Problem now with duty finder is there is absolutely no consequences for your actions.

Best thing would be to add a rate this player option on leaving a duty from 1 to 5 starts with the option to leave a comment.

(A players rating would start at 3 stars and moving it to even 2 stars or 4 stars would take a significant number of low or high ratings to weed out one off bad days etc. Also you could only rate people that you were not grouped with beforehand and a 3 man premade rating a 4th person would average out and only count as one rating.)

Then ideally when you get the 45 sec or so popup you could examine your potential group mates comments and average rating. Other then the score and comments nothing else would be displayed so you could not judge on class\gear\race etc. At that point you could thumbs up thumbs down a possible troublemaker or just cancel out all together. If the majority thumbs down they get kicked and a new person is brought in from the queue.

Fun. Easily abused. Trolling or abusing of it to get fake 5 stars, using every single possible way a dirty human mind can elaborate. Forget it.

Do The Navel (Hard) and ask four of the schmucks you brought in with you to do nothing. That's just a HEALER, a TANK, and TWO dps, just like "easy mode." Don't tell me it's "impossible," or "you won't have the dps," or other such crap. You'll sit there thinking because you accomplished this feat (with seven other people, some who may have had to pull extra weight 'cause someone else is slacking a bit, maybe even you're the slacker in the group) that you've got it made. YOU accomplished a thing, therefore it's "easy." Nothing is "hard." Not even the Binding Coil. Note that unless you had a group to effectively power level up to 50 and through the content, this crap can be hard to do by yourself. Especially if you have to deal with between 3-7 other schmucks who've decided that your enjoyment is not worth their loss of it.

Your outlook is so disgusting. People with your mindset are the reason the community is a sociopathic trash-pile.

If you think it's fine to treat someone like trash, just because you got grouped with them randomly, you've got mental problems.

Nah I dont think it would be as easy as you might think it would be. LOL has a tribunal system and a reward system that while far from perfect does the job. If the Devs were to spend the time its not impossible to make a similar system for duty finders. Remember you can't control who you group with in a random duty finder unless you run a premade. So as long as you filter for that, a persons score will normalize with enough duty's run. Just put in diminishing returns, and score decay over time and you could get a pretty decent system.

Honestly, this seems more toxic than what Umbrah said. Personally, while I wouldn't pin the blame on any one individual person, i believe Umbrah has the right idea. If you don't like running dungeons in the Duty Finder because the people you wind up with are rude and disrespectful, don't use Duty Finder.

It is still possible to form groups on your own server. More so, doing dungeons this way may be slower, but this is a way that you can meet people that you can actually keep as friends (if you like them) and continue to progress with. Before duty finder, this is how dedicated linkshells of close friends were formed.

The great thing about FFXIV is that it doesn't force you into a corner. You're not forced to party with random people. Make some friends (help gear them up), gather a group of well geared responsible gamers, and you'll never have to deal with Duty Finder again.

TL;DR: If you don't like it and/or find yourself offended by it/them, don't put yourself through it. Where there's a will, there is a way.

It's rare luckly, that's why my queue are exclusively on J.
i understand a bit of their conversation
they do insult, but they do it in a silly way lol
in a duty, i know they were disappointed to one of the silent tank (non JP apparently)
however, the way the express it is not in uneducated way, like adding emotes and such in their chat
even when we wiped, they won't rage like idiots and blame each other
the one who's responsible for the wipe will apologize with a big emoticon, it's fun to be with them

there's 1 fact that i can assure you from my experience, i never met a JP who rage quit

Though one time someone did get angry during Garuda at one of the healers. But their only comment was to "control your threat!"

I'm not saying there's not jerks on Japanese servers, but they are tremendously more rare than NA. In the vast majority of cases, people are much more polite and will simply not say anything at all if they don't have something nice to say. I'm glad that you see that it is rare and I also always have the DF set to JE (though I usually end up with Japanese parties).

These are absolutely ridiculous comments. And it's the reason that society has gone to hell in recent years. You're essentially endorsing rude behavior. You're giving them a pass. Rude behavior should be punished, not dismissed as the victim's fault.

This is why we need a vote kick for DF added ASAP. So the rude players will think twice about being ***hats because they'll actually have consequences to face.

My best advise when doing instance is to look at the toxic players as entertainment, and to also feel sorry for them. Very few toxic players survive in mmo unless backed by an entourage of other toxic players.

Why doesn't everyone see it this way? The solution to getting around assholes shouldn't be to avoid the content altogether, or to go out of my way to form a group myself. That's absurd.

My point was that people shouldn't be acting the way they are, period. I wasn't looking for work-arounds. I'm well aware that I could stand in RT and shout up a group on my server, but can't you understand that it's sickeningly pathetic that I HAVE to go to those lengths just to be able to enjoy my time in-game?

I'm not looking for ways to avoid the trash. I'm pointing out that it's pathetic that this is the community we're going to have to play with.
