Every step I take towards endgame bums me out. Is this what I have to look forward to? I'm already having problems finding a group and I just now got to stone vigil. No one wants to run with a first time tank. Insert sad face.

Honey, you have to own being a tank. Everyone is a rookie at some point. Don't let people crowd your style. One of our worst and best qualities is that we are all Divas. Every tank has his style and way of doing things that the others have to deal with.
Every new dungeon I say, "Bonjour, I'm a rookie here so let me know of anything crazy." If they say anything bad, just start marking and pulling. They will shut up once they see you can still, amazingly, be a great tank without running the thing a hundred times.
You're going to deal with hot heads, tough guys, posers, know-it-alls, and a-holes. Our job as a tank is to shut them up and set them straight.
Everyone seems to be so uptight on this game, like i understand it gets frustrating sometimes when your having trouble getting through a dungeon etc but why rage and talk trash, if you know what to do give suggestions on how to accomplish these things
In a high stress situation the fangs really come out.
At least from my experience there isn't much problem in the pre Brayflox dungeons everyone is just having fun. Once the difficulty gets kicked up and there is less margin for error we have to cooperate and I think that's the root of the problem.
There needs to be some easy fun mindless endgame content with meaningful rewards.

What i think would be neat is if you ran a lower level dungeon on a job or class that is 50, in essence helping people out with DF, (even maybe where the more pick ups you have, the better the better the reward, if you have a full or close to it group, you get less), so you run Sastasha, and you get so many tomestones of philosophy or something. Obviously not as many as many as end game dungeons, but it would encourage higher ups to select more dungeons on the list and run them. Just a thought.
Every single MMO that is going to come out now and in the future will have this kind of community. It is not an "FF" community anymore, it is an "MMO" community and it's not going to change or stop. As you say "FF" community I'm assuming you haven't been playing many MMOs besides FFXI and FFXIV within the past couple years. Welcome to the current stage of the internet.
I don't know why people keep saying "They are going to leave." WoW patch 5.4 already was released, tier 16 is in progression, and if people were going to go back to do that they would have already. Anyone who has played the Wildstar beta knows it blows. All the others have gone f2p and are slow on updating content. If you think people are leaving before the 24 man raids are coming out you are wrong. If the 24 man raids suck, people will leave.

Turn off Party Chaaaaat....
LoL I know how that goes, started my first AK with an "E" group and it was me and a DPS who were new. I didn't say anything though, wung it all the way to the Demon Wall and the DPS did something or nothing I dunno, it wasn't my fault though and we wiped. Well the SMN goes all basement-dweller-trash-keyboard-warrior mode and we disband lol. . .I was sad. . .
15minutes later Q'd with a "J" checked only got a group in about 10minutes, tank said it was his first time, I kept winging the crap outta it. We beat the wall, beat the last boss and they do their little w thingies lulzing about how Eos was the only one that died that whole instance.
Lesson learned. That first time. . .I knew I just KNEW I shouldn't have checked that "E" but I did it anyways. . .it only leads to sadness. . .
