Why does everything turn into a history lesson with you?It does mean however developers are smart to use what does work from it's predecessors instead of completely throwing it out for something even far less efficient than it's last. The search system of FFXI was basic and could have been enhanced, instead we get less than basic version that was proximity based.
Regards to the video posted in the OP, I just fail to see how a search feature from FFXI resolves the issue.
