Having never played an older FF MMO (11 or 14v1), is the design of this game supposed to be kind of juvenile for the industry?

All classes have approximately 1 and only 1 role, with very little, if any, specialization. Can BLM focus in 1 element or spell type? Doesn't look like it.
Can ARC focus in bleeds over burst? Doesn't look like it.
Can PAL do anything other than tank bosses better than WAR? Doesn't look like it.
Can WAR be dps or anything else? Doesn't look like it.

FATEs are horribly implemented. Every zone is just FATE groups so far, they even give out company seals. I can see the value in grinding FATEs if the player is on their 3rd or 4th class, but straight up grinding the out on our mains?

The game is great, kind of like an early WoW only a bit slower, and I am admittedly a fan of the FF series, but the game looks and feels like it was designed by a team of great game designers who have never played an MMO before.
