OFFICIAL: Confirmed botting, node-teleporting, terrain-hacking,and exploitation!

How it works:
The gil-sellers hack the terrain. They position themselves in walls, under the ground, and invisible (you can't see their character models, period). This prevents them from being interrupted or getting agro.

The next step is they bot/macro the nodes. I'm inclinded to believe it's a bot as opposed to a macro, given that they are on around a 20 second timetable per 4 nodes.

Furthermore, they teleport between nodes instantly. I'm not even sure how they manage that one, but they're legitimately insta-warping between nodes to maximize their time spent farming vs. walking.

This screen is from Central Thanalan, on the Ultros server. I'm sure you have these same types of people on your server, cheating the same way.

SE, you better get your **** together; this kind of stuff ruined FFXI, and if you don't seriously crack down on it, it's going to ruin FFXIV too.

Please *UPVOTE THIS POST* if you're seeing/witnessing/experiencing this sort of rampant cheating on your server too!

Teleporting hacks are the easiest to do in any mmo, but also not the hardest to tell someone has done when reviewing logs.

I got curious, and i will never bot, but i searched youtube, and there are tons of different bots. They seem pretty sophisticated too, they can respond to tells, move in different patterns, etc. They will always be ahead of the people trying to beat them, people will always look for the quickest way to do something, but hopefully square ban hammers them.

The teleporting within objects is an Exploit. These are indeed bots and they have been rampant the past 10 days. They are farming vast quantities of Shards to sell to Crafters. You can tell all the bots in the bot-net by their first names or surnames that they share in common.

And you are right, this kind of thing will ruin an MMO. I played FFXI but not for long when I realized I may have been the only human actually playing in Bastok on my Server. When I walked out town and saw hundreds of fishing bots in a row, and dozens upon dozens of mining bots, I left the game immediately and never looked back.

You can (and probably should) report every one you find for Cheating. I know I do so but I have yet to see a single one get banned.

With all due respect, it's a non-issue.

I had all my mats from a marathon, 2 day grind in my bags.
30 Nodes open at 26, they are up to date to 31.

I mined from 26 to 30 and had

600+ Wyvern Obsidian
600+ Silex
600+ Bomb Ash

500+ Crystals (not shards - crystals)
120 Tier 2 Carbonized Matter
200+ dye Pigment

My math suggests I have around 6 more stacks before I level out of the tier.

This is a level 26-31 grind. 43 is half way to 50. The amount of material coming in to the game from legitimate mining and gathering dwarfs demand. The markets are going to glut no matter what. All Bots are doing is speeding it up by a few months.

Having looked at the images, those guys are mining crystal shards and if they really wanted to do that effectively they would one shot low level sprites with a 50 DoW. They don't matter.

Yeah, I have seen many people doing this today. I reported at least 3 of them for doing this. Teleporting from 1 monster to another and their character was under the floor! I doubt SE does anything to stop them :/ I wish this game has some GM's on the servers, it's not like it's hard to tell these guys are cheating..

Yes I have frequently seen all manner of bots mining in Thanalan on Sargatanas. i reported the more flagrant team of them. We'll see if anything happens I guess.
