Thumbs Down Feature for Forums

I see so many troll post that fill up a legitimate thread, I feel I have no recourse but to shrug it off and pretend I didn’t just read something in all caps about world of warcraft. I just want to thumbs down someone to de-legitimize their post. I think that would be more powerful than acknowledging them with a follow up thread. That just spirals the crap talk out of control. What do you think?

Please add a thumbs down feature! Thumbs me up if you agree! (wait that didn't sound right)

Not a feature that is needed or serves any useful purpose. It would just be abused.

Proves why this is a bad idea. Having a like feature isn't abused yet, but they did remove the ability to like yourself for a reason.

not sure i like this idea. even legit conversations would be filled with thumbs down because you have an opinion that does not agree with someone else. we've all seen no matter what is posted on here people take personal shots at each other and thumbs down would just allow that to continue even more.

unfortunately the disapprove feature does not really work as intended. It forces people to either agree with the masses or not post at all.

It turns into if you have a different opinion then the masses, for example you make a statement about how X Feature from X mmo would be good here and give a legit reason but you would still get rated down to a stupidly low level, if it is a WoW thing FFXI ppl will rate you down, if it is a FFXI thing the WoW people will rate you down. That and piss off a troll and you are screwed, they will rate you down for every post you make for the fun of it. Basically what happens in Zam.com their forum rating system is absolute trash, and you get sub-defaulted for simply having an opinion that is not the same as the majority.
