I'm not a part of those communities nor do I have the desire to be. Anyone with an email account can join those. You have to have a game account to come here.

Then you're missing out on talking on your off topic forums with other FFXIV fans.

I'm not interested in improving fan sites. I'm interested in improving FFXIV's official forums.

Are they? Most threads don't devolve into flame wars? People have no where to talk about subjects a little more light hearted or much more serious than FFXIV with their official community without having their threads deleted and action taken against them for superficial reasons. The only thing the mods should have to take action against the community for is harassment.

Like I said there are fan forums. If you want to talk to the community then I don't understand why you wouldn't join a fan forum. Anyway this is my last post in this topic, I don't want to keep bumping up something that's against the rules.

This topic isn't against the rules of this forum. It's related to the FFXIV community and only seeks to improve it.

Discussing random stuff isn't improving the forums. A lot of developers have been moving away from off topic forums because they aren't really all that beneficial. Fan sites are actually incredibly beneficial to MMORPGs. The more fan sites get out there, the more exposure the game gets and really off topic things are best off elsewhere. If you're not interested in improving fan sites, then you have too narrow of a focus and it's not helping the game. That type of mindset drove it into the ground in the first place.

Really? I'm pretty sure the state the game released in was the cause of that. I agree that random topics don't help the game. Thats why they need to go into an off topic forum instead of punishing people for saying harmless things.

How about people actually pay attention to the rules and purposes of forums like this, and then they will not get "punished unnecessarily"?
