What's the minimum gear required for HM primals?

I just hit 50 a few days ago and finished the story quests. I'm working on my Relic weapon quest and beat Chimera last night. I'm up to the AK part which I know I can do since I ran it before to finish story mode.

Basically what I want to know is can I fight the primals in my AF gear plus filling in the other slots with DL gear or do I need to be full DL? I don't want to gimp the group I do it with but I also want to get the weapon as quickly as possible. After that I plan to farm AK. Thoughts?

HM ifrit - AF gear GC weapon pref
HM Garuda - AK gear/ AF mix, Ifrit or GC weapon
HM Titan - Some DL / AK is acceptable , pref Ifrit or garuda weapon.

This is pretty much the easiest way to tell if you are ready for Titan if you are a non-tank. You should be above this HP (personally I think 3,200-3,400 is ideal) in your battle gear without "cheating" by melding VIT to accessories. AK gear and an Ifrit or Garuda weapon are the lowest item level methods to do this.

Ifrit and Garuda are do-able with a Level 55 HQ Crafted or GC weapon and AF gear, but depending on your group you will probably want at least some pieces of AK gear for Garuda.

I was a fresh 50 WAR in all AF (10 tomes shy of getting my first DL piece), rings and neck pieces in the 45-49 range, and I found a HQ Barbarian's Barchadice for super cheap (9K) on the MB, and I didn't put materia in it, yet....

I tanked HM Ifrit with no problems at all.
