I would say ifrit is actually harder, it is just easier to get carried in because you have more people (so you are more likely to get overgeared people to make up for you). But I do NOT recommend "farming" him, since it is a total waste of time. Waiting for 45 mins as a DPS, plus the chance that you will get bad players just makes this a horrible option. (my win to loss ratio here is not very great). Nevermind that AK farming is the best for tomestones (until weekly cap). As I said above, get some "ok" gear, and you can clear AK just fine. No "gear upgrades" required.

you are on my server maybe you should look me up sometime and we can do some HM fights, I havnt lost an ifrit fight and once you see him once you know how he is going to act for someone just getting into 50 you can out farm(tomes) doing ifrit while waitting for your weapon to drop over running AK

Oh well thanks for the offer. I do actually have no real issue running this place in an FC run, which is normally what I have done it in. I was implying my PUG win/loss ratio We have actually turned to Garuda farming as a FC when we have enough people online to carry any bads we get, since the weapons are better for those still needing and the tomes are better than AK farming.

I do agree that once you see him he is easy. Hell, on my first ever attempt in the place, minus a guildy quickly and verbally running down the differences, I had no knowledge and forwarning of what would happen (and he was explaining the fight VERY vaguely lol), however, I ended up not making a single mistake. It really isn't that hard to look under your feet and move. We wiped, but it wasn't anything I did... we had no interrupts and people fail at moving out from under triple ground explosions (which is why a pally is mandatory for a successful pug group lol)

Like 4 mythology , as a deeps it might not be to great, but as a healer I get instant que's. I will say after 15-20 kills I have yet to see a WHM weapon. The win/loss ratio isn't that bad for me with 3 out of 20 DF attempts a loss and the fight takes about 10 min

Not worth to run WP for shield. Crap hardly ever drops.

Better to run AK, so you can get 60 gear, and tomes.

I ended up just running it. The first time was a tad rough, but I got two upgrades and then got the GC sword afterwards. After a few more runs (and a couple more upgrade drops) I got my first tome item. AK is super easy now.

As blm AK is a pain in the ass, first boss is no problem the room you have on the second boss plus the casting time needed to DD screws me over...So I run Ifrit a lot more. Even with swiftcast on a 60 second timer still not enough to DPs it fast enough although I carry a 42 staff from GC. Palace on the other hand is a good place to start for me like ifrit.
