I have to ask why isn't this done:

Bosses you can FORCE popped by players by trading an item to a spot in the world, can only be attacked by the party who popped it, no one else can attack it, no one outide the party can heal the party fighting it. The bosses AOE will hit anyone, even people not in the claiming party. Only 1 party can fight at a time.

This would make the world feel more alive and epic. Imagine a new player leveling up through coerthas questing, and see's this 8 man group fighting Harmode titan, he's afraid to get too close because he might get in AOE range and insta die. Imagine all the players lining up to watch these epic battles, cheering everyone on, scared to get close, wondering what loot it drops.

Doesn't that sound a lot more epic than 8 players inside a dungeon all alone fighting a boss in their own little world with no one else to see it?

This technology exists with levequests(players not in your leve can't engage your mobs), and FFXI had /blockaid so you couldn't be healed outside your party. So why isn't this done?

To make this even better, why not make the pop item a random drop off mobs inside some open world dungeon with mobs that never leash, mobs that aggro by sight or sound, powerful mobs equal to bosses and dungeon mobs, and are deep within a large open world dungeon anyone can visit.

nobody touches those monsters unless when we accidentally hit them during FATEs.
Yeah, I don't understand why they spent so much dev time and money on making these zones people spend barely any time in. I weep for the devs and graphic artists, so much wasted time on things that are used once, maybe twice per person.

Open world is what makes this world seem incredibly artificial.

I would have preferred all dungeons have a presence in the open world for random exploration, farming and NMs

It would be fine to have separate dungeon instance for Duty Finder and for mission progress.

This would be similar to say Alzadal Undersea Ruins in FF11 which is an open area with mobs and NMs but certain parts are restricted to instances for Salvage.

I agree the game need alot more open world content. Most of the areas in the game seem to be empty with just trash mobs wandering around. From what I have read from the letters Yoshi P. has put out it seems he is only going to be adding more instanced crap its getting a little ridiculous that 95 percent of the content is instanced and you just sit in town at lvl 50. When people say you just sit in town at lvl 50 the white knights pop up saying "you can gather materials" i hate to break it to you but most people don't enjoy gathering materials.

I actually like Shiyo's idea of trading a certain item to a spot and only the party can kill the spawn. I also like the GW2 vista/scenic location idea. I absolutely loved exploring and finding new areas and getting that extra exp and loot chest when finding them all on a certain map.

Sidenote: I like the Fates, I don't think they should be touched. At endgame there is only one dungeon to spam looking for tokens and after 2 to 3 jobs being brought up, these need to be there for leveling as well as the exp that is given from them. I keep seeing people complain, not in this thread so far, about exp for fates being to high. No, it is not when considering how much exp is needed to level and when all quests are gone and the limit on the levequests given.

Not sure why so many people are against "walking "NM's. Without that, you have no need to check that room out of the way when you are near. There are many ways of combat bots.

Not sure if anyone else did, but when I was running around to something, I would take a side trip just to check if an NM was up. I kind of miss that in this game.

Walking NM's in open world dungeons is nice too, it makes the zone a lot scarier in fear of aggroing it(IF you make open world dungeon mobs not leash! it's so dumb beastmen stronghold ones do..I can mount through it at level30 without dying...) I think a mix of everything is needed. This game focusing SOLEY on dungeons and only dungeons isn't good, you can have everything at once. Bring on poppable and walking NM's, dungeon NM's, fates, fate NM's, open world dungeons, instanced dungeons, everything!

In order to do a bounty/mark, you have to visit either the Adventurer's Guild or your Grand Company and see which ones are available to you. The bounty/mark that will be available will depend on your character's level or rank in the Grand Company (sort of like leves). Maybe some can be solo-able while other bounties/marks require a party. The rewards can be xxxx amount of gil or armor, crafting materials, etc.

Well this is just a thought, but it would be cool if Square Enix implemented this.
Had this in early 1.0, they were special leves that you bought with points from leves. Used to be on to fight a giant buffalo or w/e, it was okay :/
