    I had all of these problems and more. After talking with my bank I found out that only playspan was trying to charge my card (and locked it). Global Collect never even attempts to charge the card (no activity on my account from them).

    I finally gave up and bought an Ultimate Gamer Card like many other people. That got rejected. I contacted UltimatePay customer support and they pushed the transaction through for me (they asked for the card PIN and transaction ID, I only had the PIN because square's site doesn't give any useful information when stuff fails).

    Just so everyone knows this had been reported long ago http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...601-CE-Upgrade and it still hasn't been addressed, so don't expect them to fix it any time soon. This shit never worked correctly with 1.0 and it seems they still haven't learned their lesson. How can you fix a game and not fix your billing system????

    I had this problem. Added my CC info thru Mog Station when it first opened. I was using Firefox at the time and the payment screen just did not look right to me. And I knew from past experience that my add-ons sometimes block things I actually need. So I looked and something called Global Direct was being blocked. I enabled it and the payment screen loaded normally and I was able to finish my payment.

    The 601 error use to be because your bank info and your SE account info are not matching in some way. For me it was because my bank (card) info had my middle initial and my SE account did not. Unfortunately you can not update your name on your SE account but luckily for me I work for my bank that has my card and asked a co worked to take my middle initial out and voila.

    Other thing that may not be matching could be your address check for any small difference between your SE account info and your bank info
    If you notice SE when adding a CC doesn't have you type in your name and address like most companies would so this is where most of the hang ups would be.

    I got error 601 from day one.

    Warning: Crysta may not work for you!

    I bought an ultimate game card in order to get crysta just in order to subscribe-- and they declined the prepaid card!

    I tried everything imaginable, changed as much info as possible to get it to match, bought a prepaid card that I need a refund for now, and it all failed. Eventually I used my boyfriend's card thinking it wouldn't work because the information obviously wouldn't match... and his worked on my account! What--!?

    I guess I have my sub now but this is beyond ridiculous and I'm still seething after hours of fighting this. This is not a "bank issue". I've never had this much trouble paying for anything ever and my bank has confirmed that they haven't declined anything.

    check if the personal info registered at your bank and those on SE account match. they may be applying a cross check.

    I'm in the US. A friend of mine got around the 601 401 problem by purchasing crasta via paypal.

    Ive heard that if you use PCGameSupply to purchase the Ultimate time card and use the code under the "other billing options" it works as well. My friend tried to do it under playspan and it failed every time so he went to the third party PCGameSupply and got the payment to go through and registered the card to buy crysta. Then he set the sub to crysta and it works. Also I've noticed that even if you are a verified PayPal user the website will deny your paypal if you try to spend more than 75$ (but it wont tell you that i figured it out after asking paypal) Apparently some websites put a blanket limit on paypal accounts. Hope this helps.

    In other news, this issue has been on the news here in Japan and there are apparently thousands of players here unable to play. Was talking to my coworker and he is having the same issue trying to use his bank, cards, etc etc. Hopefully the media coverage will sway enough minds to correct this. Here's to wishing.

    Same issue here i am 1.0 and pretty pissed off. Tried to add sub thru mogstation but no luck now i cant even play... SE look at blizzards payment system... That is a real payment system...
