Is there any information on this issue yet?
Has anyone been able to make their payments?

I can't pay either. They should use a better system for credit cards than Global Check >.< This had been an issue too in 1.0 and they still have it.
Not a lot of people here, but I saw this coming as a major problem a week or so ago when I tried to sub early... I immediately knew that the website had a problem accepting CC information (601 error). I emailed support and they quickly responded... but the response was "sorry we can't help you at this time, but we will pass the info to our developers".
I managed to buy Crysta with my paypal account even though I got the 401 error in the process... thankfully the Crysta still appeared in my account so I'm good for 3 more months. But yes, they need to fix this ASAP because I'm sure there are many people affected...
This is just Legacy players bumping into this now... wait another 30 days when all the NEW players need to suddenly sub to continue playing...
Edit: FYI folks, here is the real thread about the issue: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...601-CE-Upgrade

Thank you for the info Z3mog, I'll have my buddy try out the solution in that thread. Hopefully this gets sorted out immediately because it's about 2 weeks until the much more plentiful new players need to deal with it.

I got no error(s) from Mog Station. My infos are the same as before, never changed. The weird thing is that my CC/bank account haven't been charged and yet I'm still able to log on and play as usual. I contacted SE rep about me unable to process through the payment and this is what the guy told me.
Agent : Okay there are a couple of reasons
Agent : could be that there are no funds, bank blocking transaction, billing address/name was not correct, you are at a different location than the billing address.
Agent : Unfortunately there is nothing i can do to lift that lock and you will have to wait 24 hours times the amount of tries.
You: everything is correct as the card is being used very often
You: and as I thought...I changed the payment method to my checking account and still nothing

You: I am able to log on and play as usual, it's just that I'm not getting charged and getting my veteran's reward
Agent : Im not sure what could have gone wrong, but this is handled by the system, and unfortunately you will have to endure the wait. However,
You: ok..
You: so...just wait huh?
Agent : You can purchase a physical Ultimate Pay card from Gamestop, 7/11 or Ralphs, purchase crystal with it, and use that to pay for your subscription. that will be the fastest way at this time.
You: that's another problem.. others are having problems with that as well ^^
You: and there is nothing you can do or have any information on what the cause is?
Agent : Unfortunately i only have the information i have provided. I wish i could do more to assist.
You: alright..
You: I'll wait and see what happens
You: thx
Agent : Thank you for visiting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center! Take care and hope to see you online!
Agent has disconnected.

Ive been dealing for this for years and it's made worse with the fact as soon as you get this error, you cant even try to do it again for 24 hours(thats what SE told me after waiting 5 hours to talk back in 1.0)

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~

There was a response in the Tech Support forums here:
Hello,
If you are receiving an error 601 or error 401 when attempting to update your payment method, then there is an issue where the financial institution is declining the authorization attempt. Unfortunately, as SQUARE ENIX is not the financial institution, we are not provided with any information as to why the authorization was declined, only that it was. Please confirm that all billing information is entered correctly on the SQUARE ENIX Account in question. Please also note that once an authorization has been rejected, that form of payment cannot be attempted again for a full twenty-four hours, and any further attempts before that time will automatically be rejected. If you would like further information about this specific authorization attempt, please contact your financial institution. If you wish to begin playing immediately, please choose a different payment option and payment method, available through the SQUARE ENIX Account Management System.
Regards,
GM Bublex
So it seems like it is the CC companies rejecting the transaction that checks if your card is valid/that you have funds, unless I'm misunderstanding.
This is a load of crap. (The GM's response, not the player quoted above.)There was a response in the Tech Support forums here:

You mean to tell me that, all of a sudden, hundreds of users with a variety of credit cards from various financial institutions all have the exact same problem at the exact same time? The common denominator here is the SE Billing Department.
