Direction of FFXIV?

It may just be that I haven't paid attention enough, but where have they stated it at all? Can't remember a single instance of defining a direction, let alone defining a direction not-Wow.

I knew after I said "many times" I'd be called out because I only read it once. I'm fairly sure it was Yoshida in an interview. I thought I could find it, but didn't. It read something along the lines of - rest assured everything we add will be in the style of FF and XIV even if inspired by ideas from other games.

I have a pretty good memory but lose track of things like where I read it. I'm sorry. I checked the last few interviews I read but couldn't find it. I only did a quick scan for "WoW" and "Warcraft" though so maybe it wasn't named. I'm not gonna read every interview again for 1 sentence.
