That's completely incorrect. Gathering is a relaxing non-combat activity which I enjoy doing when I have to do it and I'm sure many would agree that this is a step up from 1.0's gathering system which could be described as sluggish at best.

The reason why we have people warping around from node to node 24/7 is because they want to amass large quantities of a particular item, put them all on the market and attempt to drive down the selling price of these materials making it harder for new and legitimate players to make honest gil, and to encourage other people to buy gil because they feel like they can't get a decent amount of it through normal means.

The majority of players are doing it the hard way NOT botting though I for one am reporting every single one I see in every single zone even if it's the same players every day. Don't care, no sympathy except perhaps to those whose accounts got hacked which I think accounts for most of these bots. There are plenty of us doing it properly. Boredom is a horrible excuse for cheating. If those bored players you mention find something so BORING in a game they feel like cheating they should take a break and do something else. There is absolutely no point in playing if you are going to cheat.

yep that's my solution. I don't find it boring personally, so I will keep mining, harvesting, crafting away when I feel like it. Just because you think some people find it so boring they want to become cheaters doesn't mean the rest of us think like that.
If I by chance were to find it boring one day, I am clever enough to realize I am free to turn off my pc and come back later when I'm not feeling so bored. You are free to find that as silly as you like I could care less. I find it infinitely sillier that anyone would try to justify cheating.

Why are you trying to justify bots? People will use them no matter what gathering is like. Botting = free gil income.
