Subscription Problem: Can't select from list of characters on "Entry "

I chose the "Entry" subscription option and now I am locked out of my main character.

I was a v1.0 player and had two characters on my original server. When I started playing v2.0, I selected one of those two characters (Deminia Brellenwind), which is the character activated on this forum as well. For some reason, even though the second character (Birkie Bryrr) has not ever been activated during v2.0, it appears first in my list and is the only character I can choose to log in with on that server (Sargatanas).

I have so far been unable to find a way to select from my list of characters to choose the one character to have access to on that server as an "Entry" subscriber without deleting the other character. I'd rather not delete the extra character, in case I chose to upgrade to the higher subscription tier in the future.

Update: I was impatient and decided to try deleting the second character, even though I really didn't want to. Deleting the second character unlocked my main character on that server, so now I can at least play. This is still a problem, however, as surely some players will not be willing to delete extra characters just to be able to access the character they currently wish to play.

Unless these sorts of technical issues get resolved quickly, I am not certain I will continue my subscription beyond the one month I have already paid for.

Same here. I figured I'd give "Entry" a try because there's only one character I'm playing anyway.

I have two characters on the same server. It'll allow me to play the first character, but not the second one (the one I want active). In 1.0 this wasn't a problem because you selected which character to have activated.

This shouldn't have been overlooked to begin with.

You are only allowed to have 1 character per server if you sign up for entry level. I do think they should not have a entry level and just be standard with one price for everyone with same rules so stuff like this would not happen.

I had issues with that as well but i only had one character from beta, took me a *@E#*@#E while to figure out i had to click the retardedly teeny and inconspicuous fricking star in the upper left corner of my char portrait. I mean cmon WTF? Why so much difficulty just to pick a char se?! Most customers would think, "oh i want this char as my main" and just SELECT it by highlighting it. Newp. FFS, so needlessly complicated. Not to mention this forum didnt like my sattalite isp on the farm, and i had to register with cable internet when i visited my parents. /boggle

Loving the game, but the customer support gives me nightmares.

I don't mind them having two different fee scales. Options are good.

I didn't expect to be able to change between characters whenever I felt like it with an "Entry" sub; that was what I expected the higher tiered sub would provide. However, I did expect to be able to select which character I wanted to use as my one character on that server, and not be forced into a default character, especially one that hadn't been activated in ages. I seems like this was an oversight and not intentional, but it needs to be fixed asap.

If I register as "Entry", there is currently no way to choose which character is your main?

Also are the remaining characters saved, just locked, or are they lost?

I agree that process is maddeningly cryptic - I remember being frustrated with that back in 1.0 actually.

Funny thing is, I already had the yellow star next to the correct character on the forum, having selected it as my main character a while back. That is why the correct character appeared as my icon on the forum. In game, however, only the extra character was available, which was unfortunately not the correct character. It seems like a lot of the transitions involving old characters did not go as smoothly as they should have - I keep running into little bugs that seem to be related to having a v1.0 character.

I really hope they can get their act together. This is so frustrating.

My boyfriend had the same problem with his account as I did, only luckily for him, the character he wanted to continue using was the one available. It looks like whichever character appears first in the list for the server is the only one you can use as an Entry player. Any other characters will have a red X next to them. If you delete the character at the top of the list, the next one on the list becomes available. So, it seems they just get locked, not lost.

I guess I was lucky that I only had created two characters on that server. It still annoys me that I had to delete my other character just to be able to play on my main character. I just didn't want to wait around for who knows how long to have them resolve this.

I believe they may be sorted in the order that you create them? That seems to be how it is for me. If so, the #1 would be the character I want to play, so I think Entry will work for now.

I would say that this is something they will probably have to work very quickly to fix. There's going to be lots of people paying for Entry, and being locked out of the character that they actually want to play. When money is involved, they will find a solution quickly.
