I think he means he had standard 1.0 and bought 2.0 collectors and basically wants to upgrade his standard account using the new 2.0 collectors version he bought.

Unfortunately SE don't seem to be letting that happen and there's a big thread of people with the same problem here:

I haven't read every post in the thread, but I'm afraid it seems the general answer is "we gave 1.0 people the 2.0 game for free, you shouldn't have bought it. Use digital upgrade if you want CE" (not exact wording!)

Edit: 2.0 doesn't actually have a bonus content code, there's only the main game code. In 1.0 there was the game code and the bonus content codes which made it CE, in 2.0 they merged it all into the game codes which is why it won't work now.

Yep, it is exactly what you just said.Also,if what you said about the 2.0 merged code is true, i'm actually pretty fucked up :/....i think i'll need to sell the code and buy the digital CE edition with the money earned u_u.

SE did in fact make it *clear that V1 CE users only qualified for a 'free' digital CE and that the boxed codes wouldn't work, though that was some time ago and posted in the old V1 forums IIRC, so no one who wasn't lurking in those would have seen it.


*I'm not criticising anyone who didn't see it BTW, just pointing out SE were very clear this was their intention all along. There was a lot of negative reaction but I don't recall ever seeing an SE post in reply.
