2 Star Gear

Well i am able to HQ 2 Star Gear but since i got a few crafting jobs to 50 first my combat class isnt 50 yet. Is it true that ilvl 70 Dungeon Gear is better than HQ 2Star? If i am right the only way HQ 2Star is only slightly better is if you melt Materia IV to it 5 times correct? Since there is almost no materia IV yet it seems quite useless to craft these which makes me kinda sad :-/

I don't know because I'm lvl 30, but items have max stats, I think that is not possible meld 5 materias to HQ 2Star, at least not any materia 5 times

What i70 dungeon gear is there again?

In general, NQ/HQ version of crafted i70 gear is equal/better than most DL gear.And as you said, the crafted gear allows for heavy materia melding, for instance I melded an extra 27 crit on my Gryphonskin Tunic, as well as some extra Determination, that makes it much better than Darklight.

Sadly the costs are way too much to justify really making it unless you're legacy (imho).

Well even my monk is not yet 50 i was able to buy some Animal Fats and craft my first lvl 70 piece. I was pretty sure ill HQ it but i was lucky because i HQ the hard gryphonskin with 100% chance so everything else was just a piece of cake.

However, i find these piece pretty nice since due to the materia slots you can decide which stat u want to go for. Not to mention that i like skill speed anyway which is not available on dungeon gear.

What do you think about Dungeon Gear and HQ crafted if you see those pieces?

Like I already said, it's nice gear but the costs are way too high (for gear that you might just replace 3 weeks later with AF+1).

Also, your picture reveals another issue, I guess Shiva is a new server therefor you guys have no/barely IV Materia. Without that you can't even really maximize the potential of your gear.

Basically you could have slotted 3xIV Savage Aim and then have still 2 remaining slots, like on my bards Tunic:

I would if there were Materia IV in the auction house But on my server there is nothing. Only one materia 4 since release.

I think it may require some spiritbonding of Imperial and Militia War/Magic gear (at least one Militia gear so far has yielded a tier IV).

But it's not a 100% chance, even on that gear from what I heard. And well, since people just get DL gear nobody bothers to Spiritbond anyway (takes pretty damn long as well).
