Will this game have special event and/or decorations during the Holidays?

I know in some other MMO's like Phantasy Star Online/Universe during Halloween,Thanksgiving,Christmas,New Years they decorate the lobbies and even have special rare monsters that can only be seen during these holidays who drop rare items.

Does anyone know if this game will have something of the sorts? I just find these things to be cool and fun :-)

I suspect they will, they currently have the Moonfire Faire happening where you can get swim wear, it isn't decorated massively but there are little zones dotted about

Not really. The 1.0 Christmas event was embedded in the lore. They don't have polar bears pushing coke cans around like in the real story of Christmas.

Other MMO had events that go hand in hand with the lore.
Correct me if I am wrong but I believe they had Halloween too in 1.0 where Imps or whoever played tricks and then you were suppose to get candy.
Can't remember the whole thing.
I hate to see you with the Lightning event...someone went and canceled their sub over it lmao.
I hope this event is an actual event, Moonfaerie is meh.

Why? It's just a harmless "goof off" made for the players.
What's so wrong?

I mean, I love immersion and a consistent feel in the setting, but that doesn't mean I won't go watch Commander Sheppard goofing off in Garry's Mod. :P

There will indeed be holiday events... after all, they had them in 1.0, and the Calamity Salvager trades in 1.0 materials for real 2.0 items.

THEY HAVE THIS?!?! I mean, I remember reading somewhere that we could turn in our items from v1.0, but I never caught wind of where or how. Here I had been deleting my dated gear and so forth... poo

But yes, in 1.0 there were a total of 10 different "seasonal" events. Even though they were tied with real life celebrations, they were still given lore to explain them in the context of the game.

I'm 99% sure Jeuno had different music in FFXI around Christmas time. And 50% sure it was decorated too. I know this isn't FFXI but it is SE, so I think we can expect something similar. I seriously doubt we'll see rare mobs that only pop during holidays though.
