Melding gear. Why is the +1 greater melds being red ?

When you meld something it confusing people that do not understand that if, You or they got a +1 or better in red you get the credit for the gear that you melded to the gear. Could they change the color to like yellow. So we can sell some the 4 slots we melded, If lucky and made the super rare 5+ slots added with all bonuses over 1+ be nice. Since the gear limits still allowed 1+ or more for the gear or, if it is zero then be red. So we can sell stuff on the market board with great slots added, and not confuse people.

I am way more confused after trying to read your post than I ever was when dealing with melding materia.

Are you talking about how the materia's bonus stats turn red if they exceed the item's stat cap? Any crafter who knows what they're doing should be able to explain how melding and caps work to someone who asks, so I don't really see a problem. "Can you meld this for me?" "Sure." "Wai,t why is this red?" "Because <explain stat caps>" Done. If you're concerned as a seller, just meld the approriate tier of materia into the item so that you don't exceed the caps and then a buyer won't have any reason to be worried if they don't understand how melding works.

Every item has a cap for it's bonuses. If you're trying to meld a HQ item, the bonus on it already are at their cap. So if you had a Head item that has +10 INT, you can't put anymore INT into that piece, you can put other bonus on there however, but each stat has a cap.

I agree with the OP. Red letters makes the stat seem like it isnt active at all. Changing stat-capped materia to yellow would at least make it consistent with the color of stat reductions we see in lower lvl dungeons and FATES (stats on downleveled gear turn yellow). Keep +0 materia red, though.
