Constant crashes using Tri-Crossfire but not Dual? WHAT?

So guys... if you're running triple crossfire and crashing all the time then switch to dual crossfire. All my crashing went away. It's absolutely amazing how terribly optimized this game is. I basically have to run at 2/3 power to run the game. A powerful computer just crashes it. lol I'm just hoping that it will be better once DX11 is released. But yeah... for anyone running 3+ crossfire and crashing, try switching to dual. Hopefully it will fix it for you as well. As for the rest of you that crash, I hope they optimize it soon, cause it is ridiculous.

First time running Xfire? Must be if you think it's SE's fault. Look to ATI to put a driver out next year to fix your issues. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Almost nothing supports tri-crossfire. Including ATI drivers.

you say your running Triple Crossfire but you do not state what graphics cards your using or even your system spec. the game is not optimized for tri-crossfire/sli and i dont know any game that is.

the game runs perfectly fire with dual but the main problem is that AMD drivers are really bad and is commonly the problem. have you tried rolling back to older drivers?

I do not have any problems running the dame in quad SLI, no crashing, no problems at all.

Some more information on your PC spec/config would help others to help you.

I've been using xfire for as long as I can remember, this is not a new thing for me at all.

    My system specs:

980x Extreme Cpu at 4.0 ghz
7990 and 7970 in tri crossfire
    24gb ddr3 ram
    ssd

This is the only game that actually crashes from this, sure there are games I've played that don't utilize the full power, which makes sense, but they don't crash because of it. Here is also a list I've things I've tried to fix the constant crashing:

    Reinstall game
    Reinstall OS
Try 4 different drivers, past 3 beta divers and latest stable one
Play the game with minimum settings and Max
And quite a few other things but those are the big ones

The hardware is fine, it's not overheating, it's liquid cooled. So yeah, of you guys know a solution other than that I would love to know. I have to change back to tri xfire for all of my other games and they give me no problems.

Also, forgot to mention, there are quite a few people on this forum, as I'm sure you've noticed, that experience the same constant crashing, and most of them run single cards, both Nvidia and AMD. So sure, if I was the odd one out, or if it was just amd cards then I wouldn't think it was SE at all, unfortunately that isn't the case. I would LOVE someone to help fix all of our crashing issues, so if any one of you knows the solution you would be my hero.

Your better off disabling crossfire until AMD actually release drivers that implement it properly (and no, 13.8b2 do not do a good job despite the driver notes including FFXIV).

As it stands, the scaling is inconsistent at best (dual 7870's here) and the fps frequently raises and drops for no discernible reason. Its also very well documented on these and other forums that each card will only be running 50-60% in crossfire/SLI due to the poor driver support right now (slightly better with FEAR profile fix) - this includes people running older cards and those running dual gtx 780s in SLI for example.

I'm assuming that your running in full screen mode... (crossfire, by design/limitation not working at all in windowed or full screen windowed mode etc etc).

Yes I am running full screen mode. And yeah, nothing to do but wait for it to be optimized in the future.

On a side note, I'm so glad people like my write up on the crossfire fear thing

I take it back, I'm crashing again. I guess this didn't solve anything. It doesn't happen as frequently, but it still happens often enough to notice. Damn!
