Chocobo restrictions

What is up with the incredible restrictions placed on Chocobo companion?

With one active:
- You cannot mount it or any other mount
- You cannot do a leve
- You cannot queue for a Duty
- You cannot complete a solo instance
- You cannot join a group as it creates a group when summoned

Here are some of the negatives associated with it:
- You 'donate' some of your XP to your Chocobo when it is accompanying you
- You cannot get all skills in all 3 role trees even at max Chocobo level
- You cannot reset your Chocobo's skill trees
- Constantly require a consumable to summon and must be consumed every time you need it
- When you first obtain the ability to summon it the Chocobo is utterly pathetic

the only problem I have is chocobo is really I can't summon it to help me with GC leve and while I wait for duty waiter
requiring a green every time is ok..

Yea my biggest gripe is not being able to queue for dungeons with it out. It should be treated like carby in regards of solo queues, just instead of it moving with you into a dungeon, it auto-leaves. So many time I could have had mine out but opted not too because of the restricted placements on it.

Quality of Life changes must be needed.
I mean it's kinda annoying with the restrictions.
I think they said they will look into it in a GD forum.
The Chocobo Companion takes years to level up anyways

My class of choice is White Mage. So it makes sense to have a defensive Chocobo companion. Good or not, i much prefer it taking a beating whilst i keep it alive and deal the damage. After all, the companion is only for solo content. As bad as it can possibly be, a meat shield is better than some random mob smacking me aside the head.

I am WHM too and so far the bird will not tank for shit. I tried it myself lol. I mean unless people got their Choco high level enough and actually have trouble to solo.
[Since Solo PvE content is cake in this game so far.]
If people ran Tank Choco to a high level then I'll keep specin' him there but so far...lol.

Except i am taking into account time. If he is crap as a tank in solo content, then sometime down the track he will be improved. Since you cannot reset his talents, being a White Mage with a tank is a good investment for the future.

This has been already confirmed by devs post that they're looking into adding a feature to allow us to re-alocate the skill points. Let's just hope it will not cost another 10k Seals ...

''Looking into'' does not equal ''it will happen''. That is an age old MMO dev statement that basically means ''yeah we hear you, but we have other priorities right now so we will think about that later'' and never end up getting to it. Ive heard the same response from devs for many things over the years, almost all of which ended up being totally forgotten.

I'd rather see more companions so I can specialies each one into something else and call up the one I want for that particular fight. Would like to be able to do GC leves with it since I can do normal leves with it already. Beyond that it's not there to replace a full character it's there to give you a bit of a boost.
