    Stats for Gear are very Boring

    The gear in this game needs special stats not just slight upgrades in the same normal stats whenever you get better gear for your class or job. Another thing I find stupid is that the allagan gear is basically the same as the Mythology gear with very very slight differences if any at all.

    Yes, this! You could have Allagan Flaming Gear! Then Mythology Flaming Gold Gear! By the time you get to 50, it would be Mystical flaming gold gear of Price Edward Charles the 3rd Hailing from the lost Kingdom of Jeuno, who Fell off his horse and was rendered unconcious for a decade, the third, +2".

    I've brought this up many times and I really agree that it needs tweaking. Whatever happened to gear giving negative stats in exchange for bigger boosts in others.. What about gear giving hp, crit damage.. And what the hell happened to the bonuses granted by particular stats like DEX giving crit rate? It's not just unique ability enhancing stats, it's also variety we need...

    They had it right in version 1, I don't know why they felt the need to change it. It really is bland at the moment.

    Indeed, we had a few threads in beta about this. I believe the official reply was that they were waiting to balance everything out first, then they'd start adding more interesting gear stats.

    Personally it's never been the stats on gear that excite me so much as what that new piece of gear will allow me to accomplish.

    Yoshi stated that they are saving it for PvP. All the fun stats are going to be integrated into PvP gear. He stated several examples, but most of them escape me. All I can remember is him giving an example such as -50% sleep duration.

    I really second this post. Diablo is a good example, although i'm not suggesting that exact type of gear. But to have stats on gear that said maybe like, (has a 10% chance after casting cure, to make your next cure heal for 5% more). That isn't exactly game breaking, but it would be a neat added effect. The possibilities are endless. A shield could have something like "upon successfully blocking an attack, you take -5% damage for 10 seconds". I mean seriously, you could build literally thousands of different gear type "mods" that would make gear feel more unique.

    Also, please give us glowing weapons/gear/items! haha

    Why do we need a million different kinds of stats? Theres only so many ways to write +Damage without them becoming identical.

    While i would agree that we could certainly do with some interesting effects to our skills, such as gloves that increase DoT durations, or Body slots that reduce durations for harmful effects on yourself.

    Just please don't go the route of Neverwinter, where i actually cannot tell if the stats are even useful for the class I'm playing.

    What would more than likely happen is the Theorycrafting/Mathcrafting folk would pick out the 2 "Best in Slot" stats, and everything else would be junk anyways. Or If all your dozen stats were made equally beneficial ... Then you have no real choice because at the end of the day, its all just +Damage with a different name.

    I like this system. I'm not forced to go to a Theorycrafting site and math out whether or not these shoes are better than my last because it has a different stat on it ...

    TL;DR, Stats that change the way skills behave, i am absolutely for. Stats that just do +Damage with different names, no thanks.

    I just died after reading this, hahahahaha. By the way, where can I buy/get that supah deadly awesome gear? D:

    Back to the main topic, stats are fine as they are. Higher stats would just mean higher stats on the enemies too, thus rendering the increase useless and creating stat inflation on the long run (see WoW).

    As for extra stats with bonus to effects/resistances I'm all for it, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.
