Can't log in at launcher

I'm not at all sure what is going on. I am constantly getting an "Id or password is incorrect" error when logging in. This is confusing to me as i can log into the management service. I received an email about account restriction placed and it said that once I went to the link and changed my password the restriction would be lifted. So I did that and I went back to try to log in again and to no avail my password is not working. I have changed my password several times over the last hour through the site. I am positive I'm entering the correct information.

I have a Token attached to my account as well and I am refreshing and getting proper one time passwords as well. I could log in a little while ago and then i log off to eat some food and now I can't log in again.

Has something like this happened to anybody else and/or do you have any advice to help?

Please tell me you didn't use the link from the email. If you did...thats a classic scam to snatch your info. Only log in from a bookmarked, trusted official site. Aka the launcher has a direct link to it. Once there, bookmark it. Only use that one to log in and manage account. I suggest loading patcher and using the official site off it to once again change your info.

Also, when i had the id or pword incorrect, i had capslock enabled (this laptop doesnt have any capslock indicator and frequently i end up hitting caps instead of lowercase). Another method to make sure its not a typo is to type the pword somewhere in a document, copy and paste it. Not sure if there is a virtual keyboard function.

And...scan pc (assuming you're on a pc and not ps3) for garbage if you DID click the email link. Hell even if you didn't just to make yourself certain no baddies sneaked in there.

I used to hit this periodically with my token in XI---chalked it up to weird timing with the token.

Double-check your caps lock and numbers lock settings. IDK how many times I've turned one of those on/off by mistake... makes you feel real stupid when you realize that was what was flubbing your password. I actually changed the registry key on my work laptop so numbers lock would be on during the Windows Log-in screen (it didn't have a number pad, so when people tried to put in a password, keys around K would put in numbers...so they couldn't log into it... heheh). If you're on a laptop without a number pad, this could very well be what is tripping you up--some have the number lock button in a bad place and it's easy to hit by mistake.

You say you've been resetting your password at "the site". Are you going directly to the SE AM site, or following the link from the email? The reason I'm asking is we've seen spoofed emails in the past fishing for login information. Just want to make sure you aren't possibly going to one such site, giving out information, and someone is erroneously trying to sign in (they don't have your token)--causing temporary lockouts on your account or something. Make sure you are changing your password at the official SE site by following a link from the lodestone or something like that.

Seemed to fix itself after about 2 hours of waiting. Thanks anyway for the help. And i double checked the email address. It was official. As well as on my account details it showed an acct restriction at the time i got the email. Well it seems to have worked itself out.

Also when i accidently locked myself out, i had to wait 15 mins before i could log back in from the patcher (stupid caps lock!)
