Bahamut Lair gear equal to Mythology gear?

Can someone confirm that this is accurate? Doesn't mythology gear having the same stats as bahamut lair make getting bahamut lair gear less of an achievement?

I get that bahamut lair is a great dungeon, and has very difficult encounters from what I can see, but aside from the reward of defeating hard encounters, the gear is....the same as what you get from farming AK?

I get that you are limited to 300 tomes per week and it would take you longer to get that gear going the AK route and the incentive to do bahamut lair is that you have another channel to get this gear.

Mythology gear should not be the best gear in game. The best gear should be rewarded by the hardest content. Tomes are a way to get gear that helps you progress further, but the best gear should only be available for those that earn it by completing a really difficult encounter.

I am not saying that Mythology gear shouldn't be GOOD. I am saying that Mythology gear shouldn't be on par with end game raid content.
