    RMT out of Control

Spamming Cities to the point you cannot even see what they are saying or anyone else.
    Whispering
    Hacking Accounts

    Will it ever end ?

How do RMT keep going ?
Well its not by just hacking Accounts , RMT are here to make money not play the game.....
Players are obviously buying Gil and Powerleveling...........

So how should Square Enix handle it?
1 Ban Players who buy what RMT sell
2 Reset their Characters to level 1 and wipe all their gear and gil
3 Add a Right Click on chat over their name Fuction > Add to Block List

RMT would not be a issue if people did not buy what they were selling , they are a profit base companies that are not here to play the game or socialize with the community....
Without players buying anything , they would die out.

See, if they could only register who is buying gil from RMTs, every single one of them, there would be no problem. However, I don't even think it's possible. Something needs to be done about the hacked accounts and the RMT's though. Innocent people who have not gone near those sites have gotten hacked as well. They've already stated they're working on something to try to stop this as much as possible, guess we can only wait.

The problem with this is that RMT companies rarely ever operate on a single game. I'll bet you each and every one of the companies being spammed are also offering RMT services for WoW, Rift, Aion, Tera, GW2, etc. A more effective approach is to remove their product by banning as many as possible. This was wildly successful in FFXI, with billions of gil being removed from the economy.

Speaking as someone who just fell victim to the "hacking", i use the term loosely, the best solution is to use the security token / app hands down. I got lucky, they got 50k and my shards nothing worth even going through the recovery process. As far as i know i have not been on any sketchy sites recently and all scans come up clean, so im not sure what happened tbh. What i do know is i was kinda dumb for not using the key right off the bat.

That being said the spam in city chat could much more easily be solved ... or at least band-aided ... by instituting a broad anti - spam measure. Call it 3 messages in a row (within x seconds) earns you 60 seconds blocked from the channel. If that happens X times in an hour temp ban the account and flag for review. Is it possible some innocents could get caught in that? I guess ... But tbh if you're spamming mutliple lines of chat for any reason other than RMT you're probably annoying people anyway.
