I just did my end of story runs with people from my server. We had a whole crew all watching cutscenes together.

I think you shouldn't skip your cutscenes if it's the end of the story for you. It isn't fair that you don't get to see everything otherwise. Honestly wish they'd implement a way to freeze everyone in place (like at the start of the instance) to keep people from rushing ahead and screwing other party members.

Wut? People going into a Duty Finder group and expecting them to speed run? Since when is ''speed running'' the normal thing to do in dungeons? If you want to speed run or anything other than going through it normally, then get a group together to do it. Don't try and force people off Duty Finder or expecting them to do it.

So basically: If you go into a Duty Finder'd group then you do it normally, that's how it is. If you don't want to do it the normal way then look for people who want to do it whatever way, instead of using the Duty Finder. It should be common sense. >.>

There's nothing wrong with speed runs. I've not yet run into a group that was jerkish about someone finishing their story. It's win-win either way - because the speed runs are generally by more experience, more geared players, making it much easier on the new person who is sort of fumbling along.

I like to let ppl watch their CS and help newer tanks learn the encounters. I don't mind speed runs either but so many just HATE on ppl who are doing it for the first time, it's just deplorable. Lucky me as a tank I do have some pull on how things will go, but the things I have been called for helping and letting ppl watch their CS's makes me want to never touch that DF, which is a shame cause I love tanking and helping people.

I had a similar experience when I ran CM for my firs time. 4 people queued together to do a speed run, I watched them speed run to their deaths as I was a WHM, they couldn't make it too far w/o me.

So I continue to queue every once in a while to rerun the dungeon. If I know there is a person that is new to CM I hang back with them and smile when I see the HP bars of all the impatient DBs steadily drop and not recover

Like the OP said, If you insist to speed run, do it with 8 members of your free company, If you rely of the duty finder to fill in your group, don't be a douche and get angry at people when they want to watch the CS. Let them enjoy the game.

What they really need to do is lock everybody down while somebody is watching a cutscene so others can't progress until everyone is ready. The speed-runners can cry all they want, but that will end this stupid debate and it's the right thing to do. Forcing people to have some patience is not a bad thing. You could argue that if they do it then you're wasting a lot of time but in that case the problem is really the core mechanic of how you get the tombstones and that is what should be complained about. Not the lack of ability to force people to skip story.

This kind of thing aggravates me so much. Typically in most games I play I am a healer, but in ARR summoner was released which is my fav FF role so I picked SMN as my main. I don't want to be in a situation where I wait an hr or more for DF to find me a party, excited to finish the story and find out what happens and boom, speed run. And sure I can just follow along as a DPS perfectly fine, but now I'm losing the enjoyment from just experiencing the dungeon. Its even worse when not only are you losing that, but you are being harassed into it and you have to take it or spend another 1-2 hrs in DF. -__-

Speed runs are all good and well...but if you are gonna do it in DF, give a warning, teach some folk, and for the love of Twelve be nice to your party! (Though that should be the case in any dungeon lol) So many people just expect people to know everything, but how to you learn unless you try it out or are taught? Not everyone is going to look up a guide on every dungeon and what routes are optimal. That takes away from the experience. And while yeah the tank/healer holds a decent amount of power and can just tell everyone to fuck off, no one wants to deal with that crap, over and over again. People need to learn to chill out and be sensible about this.

At the end of the day all it takes is a little communication and everyone can go about things happy. And isnt that what everyone wants? lol

This is going to end up what I start doing once I can get my WHM to catch up to my SMN lol

Last night we did a CM Speed run with 1 paladin, 2 WHM, 1 SCH, 4 SMN. Paladin was so slow that SMN's called up titans and we just went to town. I don't use DF for much these days, too many people not willing to listen or join Vent/TeamSpeak/Mumble.

What is annoying, is that if you're fighting a mob, and a player triggers a cut scene, the MOB KEEPS KILLING YOU. COME ON SE.

You should be able to tell the program to disable all cut scenes if you've seen them already.

You expect people to join your voice chat channel in order to do Meridianum?
