    I don't really hate BRD. I think the constant comparisons are because BRD currently has good damage and a good utility set. Being ranged and not relying on positioning also makes it easier to play. So people prefer to take them over other classes because chances are an inexperienced bard will suck less than a comparable inexperienced monk. Which is also the reason why you don't see people shouting for monks most of the time, it doesn't mean monk is bad though.
