I think this point is important:

That only means SE's balance isn't complete trash. And we won't have to face nerfs next patch.
As things stand now, only classes actually necessary for coil are tanks and, unsurprisingly, healers. Rest can be mixed and matched as we want to. BRD being a bit on the heavy side is getting fixed by SE and the rest is fine.

People just have to actually sit down and think about their skill rotations and how exactly Monk damage works. The most important things to keep in mind is, as mentioned multiple times already, that SE balanced GL3 with it dropping in mind. Also, that 2x160 is better than 1x300 in the same timeframe. If you're a fan of big numbers on screen, monk is not for you. If you like fast sustained damage, Monk is the way to go.

I do count myself as a decent monk, but I'm still figuring out new things to optimize my damage. The rotations are ever-changing depending on the situation. Monster HP is low? Snap punch, reapplying DoTs is meaningless. Monster turned? Switch to side/rear combo. Execute your skills before GCD is completely up. Etc.

There is so much things to keep in mind and that's what making the class fun for me, and being able to do so actually rewarding.
