A little concerned about leatherworking as a Dragoon

My main class is Dragoon and I currently have leatherworking at level 24, thinking it would be the best DoH class to craft Dragoon armor.
Now I have read on some forum threads that in terms of high level endgame gear Armorer is the way to go. I also looked up the leatherworking recipes, and it seems like they are only able to craft high level gear for Monks and Bards.

So, what I would like to know now, is whether leatherworking is still viable as a Dragoon once I hit high level, or whether I should start leveling Armorer. Also, do Carpenters craft high level spears too? Or is it the same thing as with armors and I should learn Blacksmith.

I hope a high level crafter or Dragoon can enlighten me! Thanks in advance!

The best crafted lance at 50 is made by BSM.
The best crafted head/body/hands/feet/waist at 50 for DRG are made by ARM.
The best crafted legs at 50 for DRG are made by WVR.
The best crafted wrists/rings/neck at 50 for DRG are made by LTW.
The best crafted ears at 50 for DRG are made by GSM.

With that said, you may bypass a good majority of this gear entirely and just use dungeon/primal drops and/or Darklight. Ultimately, it's your call what to level. Each and every one of the "Best Crafted" pieces, will cost you more Tomestones than Darklight gear.
