Kick function NEEDS to work!

Me and others just spent a whole Castrum run having one player that just joined the instance just to not move from the start the whole run. All he did was join the instance just so he could get the 100 Tomes and not do anything.

This really should not be allowed to happen....

The fact that there is no kicker is already abused by assholes. And it's a lot harder to have 3 assholes in a team of 4 or 5 in a team of 8 than to have 1...

So, it's really not a good reason for not adding it.

That's worse than allowing the assholes to run rampant? I think not.

It needs to happen, despite peoples unfounded fears of getting troll-kicked.

Something needs to be done. Why do we have to put up with ppl who wanna join an instance just to have others do the work, while they do nothing and get credit for it. That ruins the game for others

Welcome to human behaviour. Good luck trying to moderate it without there being negative side effects in differing situations for other people. rtpsoulx's example is definitely the most poignant example I can think of, and exactly why a kick function must not go in.

As for Castrum, the wait time on that instance, (presuming you even need to use the DF - I just sit in Revenant's and apply via chat there, tbh,) is so low, if having a guy go AFK was such an offence to you all, you could've just split to deny him the benefit. You'd have been back in the instance in 10 minutes anyway, at most.

If that happens your just get the other 6 people to report the character. He will be thrown into GM jail in no time.

You people all constantly assume the worst from every system. WoW has a vote kick system. It is rarely abused by the population at large. Lots of games have vote kick and rarely abuse it. Why are you so paranoid? Are you doing something you shouldn't be?

Instead of a kick a participation reward could be implemented. Anyone who stands there will receive the golden "Duty Completed" but no reward; kicking would work too but like some have said it can go both ways.

I totally agree. having a participation reward system where your contribution to the group is reflected on how good or how much of a reward you'll get. so just standing there doing nothing in an instance, you'll be hurting yourself in the long run. adding a kick feature or not adding one its like dealing with a double edged sword. your not going to please everyone. Square Enix needs to look at it as "How can we make things fair for all players across the board"
