    Where to go next?

I'm pretty lost at this point as to where I should be questing. I've done the story quests up to the dungeon in South Shroud. I didn't know if I should pick up the side quests there or not. I have read that you want to leave side quests in areas that aren't your starting area alone for when you lvl another class. I'm playing a marauder and can't find anymore quests in La Noscea, I've done up to Aleport.

I was hoping that the story quest or even my lvl 25 claass quest would bring me to somewhere that I should be questing, but that was not the case. I just don't want to screw anything up for when I start to lvl another class.

Also I checked out the quests in South Shroud and they don't even have quest rewards that would be useful for marauder...so I'm just a bit confused. Thanks

All the story quests bring you to a hub just do all those quests. If you didnt level run some leves, fates and dungeons to get to the next story mission.

Do the side quests around where the storyline has you at the moment. Take Allagan money if you don't see any equipment you like. You can sell it immediately to an NPC vendor for about what it would take to buy the equipment. Using sidequests inefficiently is bad, but if you're doing sidequests at about your current level, that's fine. It's a question of running out of sidequests and having to level with levequests and FATEs, so it's bad to use up sidequests very much below your level. That's a waste, because they could be better used by another job at a level appropriate to them. But using sidequests that are at your level is fine; later jobs can't make any better use of them than you can now.

Thanks for the info. Just didn't know if I should be doing the side quests where I was. I haven't touched anything lower than my lvl, just wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing myself over for when I level my next class. Seemed like the quests in my current area were more for lancer, archer and conj.

And yeah I've been doing fates when I can find them. Just hard sometimes with 50 people zerging them and finishing it before you can get there lol.

Well, yeah, those are the Gridania home classes so naturally the rewards in the Shroud are slanted towards them. Just take the Allagan money and don't sweat it. All the equipment on offer at this point is super cheap on the market. If you need it later on, you aren't going to have any trouble at all getting it. The important thing to manage isn't the equipment, which is easy to get yourself if it turns out you need it, but rather the experience rewards.

Don't worry about the xp. Fates, leves, and hunting logs will assist your future classes. I don't know if this is in live, but during Beta you received a passive exp bonus to all classes once your first class hit 50. Someone else may be able to clarify if that passive bonus is still in or not.

Just like you said, it's wise to leave some side-quests on areas that aren't in your starting area. However, don't take it to the point that it's causing you problems. Sometimes you just have to take bait on that "!" mark you find on your map especially when you need it.

Like Coraline said, if the MQ/SQs are not enough, try doing some LeveQuests (Personally, I don't really encourage doing BattleLeves since it's best to use them on a Field/Trade Craft Leve). Dungeons are the best places to gain some EXP along with some items and, if you're lucky, some new-found buddies to play with. I wouldn't really recommend spamming FATEs for EXP as you miss a lot of content for the EXP trade-off but, yes, it's currently the fastest method.
