    I could imagine another healing class that branches off to Time Mage (support buff-healer type and other crazy time utility spells) and Green Mage (support debuff-healer and other rare status ailments spells).
    As i stated earlier Green mage was a rarely seen class... i think tactics only... to make a green mage would be reduntant if they made a red mage. In every true RPG (in other words non-strat games like tactics) Red Mage always got most WHM and BLM skills mainly all the buff and debuff skills with good enough healing and caster damage. I much rather see a class that has been used since the first FF than a class hardly seen. Red mage should also be forced (since it is considered a jack of all trades) to wear the appropriate gear for what you want it to do since it would be seriously OP to let it heal and cause both physical and magic damage without altering stats and gear.

    It'd be smarter to make the Red Mage a tank Fencer --> Red Mage and BLM 15 Sub

    Red Mage was never designed to be a tank type class... but I have seen Blue Mages tank in 11 which is why I put Blue and Red in the same class for job development. Blue would be a heavy caster based tank maybe close to what war is now so it could DD (since war looks like it can do both well) as well while Red would heal and DD

    Who designed the FFXIV Red Mage ?? Where? Does it exist?

    The reason I said that, Yoshi and many people see the Healer and Tank Pop being low (development team). One way to make more Tanks would be to create one in the role of an Iconic Class such as Red Mage (the Look, etc). It'd also give some lee way to give RDMs some "heal"/WHM spells and some BLM Mdps skills, to give it the BLM/WHM feel it is suppose to have. The FFXI RDM and SMN etc is going to stay there, it's not here, and it's a different game.

    Blue Mages have been tanks, healers, DPS, CC, etc throughout FF. They could go with the FFX version and slap it on Lancer.
