For a main healer, Dancer just might work with the way TP functions in this game. Could also possibly restore some MP as well with the classic "Jitterbug" dance from FFV.

you obviously never played the old FFs.. RED MAGE always was and always will be a sword weilding caster... whats wrong with +int/mind swords? either i focus healing or i focus (de)buffs... THATS a RED MAGE
Yes, I have played older FFs, 1-12, in fact, including the original 1 on NES, original 3 for NES on a ROM since it wasn't released here until the DS remake, which I picked up also. Red Mage in the original FF III was good in the early areas and no good anywhere else since it lacked equipment and spell access to be otherwise, which was rectified in the DS remake to have access to good equipment throughout the whole game up to and including Excalibur and crystal armor, alongside giving all the other jobs usability thoughout the game. FF V saw the first implementation of Double Cast, as well as the first introduction of Blue Mage, another sword wielding caster that could also use a shield when Red Mage couldn't, though couldn't put out the same basic attack damage that Red Mage could due to having notably lower strength.you obviously never played the old FFs.. As for what's wrong with +int/mnd swords? They are nothing but pointy wands no good for anything else if they are not also set up for melee combat, which is part of the trinary core of what a Red Mage does. Leave out any of the three, melee capacity, black magic capacity, white magic capacity, and you don't have a true Red Mage. Stick them into the healer slot to be the focus, and you don't have a Red Mage. Have them hit things, burn down with black magic, and assist in healing when deemed necessary, all three, THEN you have a Red Mage.
Personally I think WHM and SCH complement each other very well. If anything we could use another support class.
I think theres enough healing classes. If they add another one it would have to have a very unique style of play otherwise it would just be too similar to whm/sch. Seeing as we got SCH for shielding, and whm for group heals, i dunno what else you need. Tanking, we could definitely see ninja come back, as an evasion tank. It would be different than PLD as they are focused on blocking, and War focused on huge HP pool/life steal. Red mage will never be a main at anything, they are supposed to be jack of all trades, heals/dps/support all into one. A dancer class i dunno how they managed to pull it off in ff11, but it just sounds weird.
What are you talking about i dont play tank i was saying we need more healers. I was saying dont play it they get all the smack. For good reason majority equal bad.
I'd think Dancer would more than likely be next.
It'd be awesome to see Chemist, Garlean refugee trainers of some sort so they can use Guns.
I'd really LOVE to see Oracle/Mystic/Mathematician (Onmyouji) either as a Healer or a major De/buffer/DPS.
Lastly my idea would be Astrologer ---> Time Mage; "Time Shift" "Reverse Time" = Cure Spells "Relativity" = Medica though it'd be fun to use "Time Loop" Regen dependent and burst heal with an active "Accelerate". There's just SO much room you can play with time and physics.
They can't even get SCH working properly, I'd rather they fixed SCH and rebalance them so that their effectiveness is on par with whm before they even humor talks of another healer.
How many MMOs have you played... Yes RDM is a caster DD/healer and melee attacker. But for MMOs you can only go one path as per gear equip and stats allocated much like FF11. RDM should never tank.. Blue Mage would be your tank. I saw it in 11 BLU could do it all but it all depended on gear equipped, sub class and monster spells equipped. If one class could do all in an MMO it would be overpowered. It would be like having WHM, BLM, and GLD in one character NO ONE CLASS should be able to do it all at once. It should be chosen like the WoW paladin or druid who can do it all but must have the spec and gear otherwise they are overpowered. So yes, if geared they are healer, caster DD, or melee DD not all at once. Pick your path. Yes I would be happy with RDM like that
