What would you call a guy calling you out because you have 1 bad equip out of the rest of my armor? Douchebag?

When I first joined a Titan Hard mode run with my AF (I did not know about the required gear), I was told I was undergeared and some players left. Do I blame the players for that? No, they gave me a tip, they could of just left without saying anything eltting me try do content I have no chance clearing because of my gear. I figured I should not waste mine and their time by trying to do content that is impossible with my current gear level. So I took their advice and started farming Philosophy Tombs to this very day (getting tierd of that btw lol).
I don't consider those players elitist, and surely not myself lol.
You expect me to play the game to get gear before I do harder content?
You're so elitist.
I shouldn't be expected to, either. You shouldn't expect people in duty finder to know how to play, that's elitist! I play for fuuuuuuuun This isn't a job omg
This is what people actually believe
Well until SE puts in restrictions to gear level for each duty finder then this is exactly true. You expect me to play the game to get gear before I do harder content?

If people are that angry about undergeared people doing the content in duty finder then what's the most obvious solution? Make your own group.
Everyone that 'defended' the OP are all from his server, that's pretty funny.
SE IS putting in a minimum ilvl req to queue for each instance in duty finder.
I dont know if Id call you an elitist, though there are a few other flavorful words Id call you that arent appropriate for forum posting. Its a night and day difference between simply stupid people and undergeared people. A stupidly moronic person in full AF2 can fail just as hard as anyone with junky quest gear. Im more apt to accept the latter of the two and forgive them, than the former.
Having the gear and failing = you suck.
Not having the gear and failing = need to get better gear.
So until Squeenix puts in a mini iLvl for the DF, just gotta either suck it up buttercup or make your own groups.

My post wasn't about people not having gear restrictions, but more directed at the anger and vitriol I see a lot of 'elitists' spew online. I don't blame anyone for taking a look at a Titan HM tank w/o any darklight, telling them that this simply isn't going to work and/or offering a suggestion and excusing yourself. But, as with all things, there's a right and a wrong way to do this. And, unfortunately, I see the wrong way more often than not.

This lol
No one is saying you shouldn't play for fun, everyone play to have fun. but "fun" definition is different per person. Some people have fun by farming Bosses for weapons, and they can't do that (and have fun) if they get teamed with people not able to do that content based on their gear.
I'm having fun eitherway just playing the game or helping my FC, I don't mind losing in battles. If getting better geared will help my FC, I'm more than willing to do that.
"Paying attention" I can get behind; situation awareness is the key to most fights in this game. "Being active" is also good, although there are times (gimmicking Titan HM) where standing around doing nothing is the soup du jour for much of the party (and that was apparently with "good" groups. But being "geared" has often meant that one should be accoutred with the gear that drops in the dungeon itself, or to be overgeared before groups will run with you, or you can get in their clubhouses, and this is where the "elitism" line gets drawn. Content can be managed with 1k gil repair bills and dozens of wipes because -- frankly -- that's how some people learn. You have to hammer the content through their dead, squishy skulls before they "get it."The content in this game requires:
A. You are paying attention
B. You are always doing something (DPS, Heals, Tanking) All 3 roles don't get time to just stand around
C. You have gear to do your job correctly. If a boss hits for 3-4k, and you have 4.5k HP, you should NOT be doing the content. If a monster hits for 2k damage, and you can only heal for 600/cure, you should not be doing the content. If a boss requires you need to kill it in 3 minutes, and you can only make it to 3:30 and die, you should not be doing the content.
