Stone Virgil was the 1 st dungeon where you really have patrols random pop ups and where you have to use cc

    Couple tips:
    - if you have a whm or a blm ask them to sleep I have actually ran into whm who didn't know they have repose
-pull groups back in a room or area you have already cleared
    - use your stun liberally what I normally do is pull a group with shield lob flash twice shield stun the 1 st mob halone combo it flash again tab target stun halone flash then tab again and start the process anew
    - click of regen like abilities when pulling new groups remind your healer not to put it up till after you flashed at least once
    - use CDs like rampart And such at th start of the pull to lessen the 1 st spike of damage

That's about it hope this helps and good luck

I tanked this place at level 41 no problems, although I was in full level 35/38 dungeon gear, so perhaps I was a little easier to heal than you were. Healing aggro can be crazy here especially if the healer (WHM) don't Repose. And against level 44(?) attackers you may have trouble holding on to mobs if they attack as you pull.

You have given little to no hard facts. But I would suppose you don't grind dungeons for leveling, since you have very few dungeon pieces, and mostly quest pieces. Are you prioritizing the FB>SB>RoH combo? Because mobs in there obey enmity rules just like any other mob, they do not have an ability to ignore enmity. Are you activating cooldowns upon pulling a pack? Because that would reduce the damage would mean less healing required, which could let the healer have lower enmity.

Where are you dying mostly? By the places with 2 or 3 dragons? Or by the Sprite ambushes? Do you die when patrols and adds join in? Or do you die even on single pack pulls? There are only 2 dangerous trash packs in the dungeon, the 3 dragon pull and the sprite-dragon 4-pull. You should be fine with all the other pulls, although again, without crowd control you will need to work to keep up with healing enmity.

I literally grinded this place from level 41 to 44, I would say it's even easier than Brayflox.

I think wouldn't say that this place is necessarily easier than BrayFlox. There are a lot of tight spaces with AoE coming off making it more difficult as well as the patrols that can bite you in the ass. I did this last night, and I personally thought it was difficult. I did it over leveled with AF and my party wiped a couple times on the boss, and it was also my first time. But it was also the first time for another 2 people. I think if I were to do it again it would be a lot easier. Luckily, I had a competent team so that was a plus.

But the tanking mechanics in BrayFlox and this place are identical and I'm assuming will be roughly the same for a PLD throughout the rest of the game. Unless you're a warrior, I can't remember as I'm writing this response. The only problem is the patrols for this dungeon. So if you're spamming flash, you're doing it wrong. I won't go into details here, but there are plenty of threads in which tanking mechanics and combos are gone into heavily. Take a look at those, test them out and get used to them since a lot of them are fairly similar and will be used heavily with minor adjustments for the situation.

Not a tank myself, but when i ran it, I ended up sleeping the small whelps while the others killed the big dragons. Extra work for me as healer having to crowd control as well, but makes it a lot easier for the group. You take so much damage in that instance the healer is forced to heal early and usually pulls agro. Sleeping some of the mobs goes a long way.

Equipment start to be important from there
I was a fully ready SCH and the tank had a bit of outdated gear for that point
I could take hate from him in one heal
And I am not even exaggerating... 1 physik and that was it...

So just make sure you are up to date in your equipment (and in good condition too... we had a BLM who's weapon broke after 1st boss... needless to say he was a dead weight all dungeon...)

and don't worry too much, need practice

Biggest thing I did as a Warrior was I first read up on the dungeon. The first thing the strat said was that the mobs in this dungeon hit hard and that you want your gear up to date. So what did I do? I went to the AH, or did a couple of quests till I had atleast lvl 40 gear in what I could, and no les than 38 where I couldn't.

Looking at your profile, you need to upgrade your rings, get rid of that Spiritbind pos, upgrade the plate belt, the earrings and most definitely the shield.

Now i don't know much aboout the shield as I'm a warrior, but iirc you chould have a slightly higher block strength than rate, as block strength deals with how much you block, and block rate is how often you block, though I could have the backwards and you need it the other way around.

    Ahh, good ole Stone Vigil...

One of the first dungeons to actually challenge you on trash pulls. Lot of good comments about how to deal with that, so I won't add more. If you do it well - and it may take several times through to get it - then really not too bad.

Bosses were pretty simple. Overall easier than Qarn I thought, although Qarn is the lower level dungeon.

I like dungeoning generally. Both here and in other MMOs. If you're grinding fates or questing and rarely do dungeons, you're going to have a harder time due to unfamiliarity.

Also, your party makes a big difference. Some players are just bad. Since I wasn't there, can't say how much of OP's problem was his actions vs. party members.

Edit: also, gear makes a pretty big difference. If 3/4 of your gear is more than 5 levels below your current level and/or white quest stuff, that'll make it hard. If your gear is 80% from current or 1 previous dungeon, that'll make it a lot easier.

I think you had a bad group because I have very little problems in SV. There is a problem with people trying to get through the content too quickly and they need to understand it is not a race. Take a loook at my video on the last boss and you can see how my group handled it and how they should be working. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noz_Mi1JVBo
What world are you on and have you talked to your FC about doing runs with you? We are NA Diabolos and if you are shoot me a message in game and I can help.

Do marking, and remember, mouse overing mobs gives you the lines to what other mobs said mobs are linked TO. The roaming dragons usually are not linked to anything, but they can at times link to something if they are too close to a pack.
