In CM runs I could care less what anyone is wearing gear wise. In fact for all I care run it naked, however; If you take to long on cut scenes and cant keep up with the group you will be locked out of boss fights. I run with another tank and a summoner friend, and if your a healer our summoner friend will keep us alive. If your DPS we can definitely complete the boss's without you.
It's not that I have an elitist attitude, its just SE decided to require us to run CM around 50+ times to afford full Darklight. We were just fine farming AK with 4 man premades.

Did some DF Titans yesterday.

D-bags join, examine people, abuse some members and leave. 5 times this happened... *le-sigh*
6th run everyone seemed nice. WHM said they were new, so stuff was explained. They were doing great, people were topped up and tank in full health nearly all the time.
Then a wild-SMN pops and starts to abuse our WHM for not keeping DDs topped up. Then the SMN died in a plume and reason behind the death apparently was because he didn't have full HP (nothing to do with the fact that he failed to dodge the stuff of course) - and SMN above all, last time I checked they had means to top themselves up if they were too far from Medicas and Succors.

Anyway, then later I did story end dungeon for friend and we had a super WHM in full darklight gear, garuda wep etc. - They sucked donkey balls.

Lesson: Don't judge people too soon, sometimes they might surprise you (more ways than one).

Its not really asking a lot to at least keep your gear updated. It comes across as lazy or rude when someone insists on running party content in underleveled gear. Its easy and cheap to get so there's no reason not to.

No need for him to rage about it but you should keep gear updated.

Of course and I didn't actually go further than Ifrit until I got at least my healing body, but my point ultimately was that good gear doesn't make bad players good. But also mediocre gear (in some cases, maybe not Titan though) doesn't make good players bad.
