ffxi was hardcore because of grinding but the game overall was extremely easy. you had sneak/invis to bypass mobs, u stayed stationary while in xp parties, you had re-raise that EVERYONE had access to, classes were not difficult to learn and now that i think about it kind of boring(melee = build tp, pop cds and use ws), none of the endgame had any real strat(kill x, fight from distance, rez spam, kite). Also, when they created 14 it was suppose to be more casual friendly than 11, comparing the two when they were never made to compete with each other in the first place is kinda retarded. Those rose colored glasses are showing you a game that was more awesome than it actually was. FFXI was ok for its time but i think i mostly played for social reasons and because it was final fantasy.come on who play ffix in 2003 release of the Rise of the Zilart here ,that game are realy hardcore , dont told me now the game is hard , before you realy need to be good to solo 1 mob of the same level , in this game my warrior take 3 or 4 mob is amost impossible to die vs any mob of my level , yea maybe some part in the end game are more hard but is 5% to10% of all the game ? anyway i love the game and like hardcore gameplay , i realy miss soloing some nm alone a dont realy like the open target is not challenging

You have never touched a single hardmode encounter as far as i can tell all you've done is ran AK a bit. No relic no Titan HM, no coil progress(in that gear you'd not be able to tank it).
So you claim the game has no challenges and you've not touched any of the big endgame content.
I took the time to google this player and come here because he is an incredibly toxic member of the community; I reported him and want to make sure this gets visibility. Me and three others formed a shout group on Leviathan and joined queue for AK. We were paired with this individual after a 45 minute wait.
We started off fine, even if Ultimax was a bit hard to understand. He mentioned me missing sleeps as a BLM, and I was caught off guard since I rarely sleep trash on level 1, and instead only sleep houndlights. So, given the propensity for mobs to summon adds, I led slept groups to keep the void summoning from acting, and also the aoe sleep worked more effectively. Ultimax responded by saying tank was supposed to pull, and let the mobs wake and wipe the group. Obviously emotions ran high, and one of my teammates was very upset. The other teammate and myself apologized, and offered to let him continue the dungeon. He did not, and instead went afk.
continued- The three of us killed the first boss alone, with a titan pet tanking.
On the next level we again apologized, and Ultimax complained. After waiting five minutes, we decided to continue without him and the pet grabbed aggro and I cc'd mobs. Ultimax responded by hitting cc'd mobs in a further attempt to wipe us. Titan, luckily, was strong enough to tank multiple mobs. As a result, Ultimax instead resorted to pulling extra groups to us. My teammates wanted to continue, but I decided to just report harassment and leave.
This cost me a lot of time and personal enjoyment. I believe a player like this should be punished, and I am afraid nothing will happen through the normal channel. I also would like some measure of resolution regarding the incident.
Square, please do what you can to make sure we have a positive community. I love this game and I want to enjoy the ability to randomly pair and have good experiences.
Atrael Vivi, Leviathan
i know op might be trolling but he does have a point the game is actually easy. i am currently in Coil turn 2 and i have reached there by pugging the entire content, and the reason am still in turn 2 is because i cant seem to make a group to go there. we downed the first boss in turn 1 in like 7 tries, it was basically trying different things and hes down. turn two isnt that hard too its just some management. i really hope the other turns are more challenging.
I'm sorry there may be an ethical component to a witch hunt post anyway, but I'm so upset right now my heart is palpitating and I'm very stressed. I had a very hard day at work and some personal challenges. I've come home to play and had to wait an hour to have my evening ruined by a stranger with no reason to have a grudge against me. I mean, this kind of thing literally makes me wonder about people sometimes. Who would do this? Why? What do they gain? Ugh. It's a game and I'm just trying to have fun with fellow people.
So because a regular mob in the world of the same level is stronger than you in XI, this game is easier? Your logic is astounding. you have to fight mobs above your level if you want them to be harder, but this game isn't about pounding outside monsters into a pulp over and over.
Go find a FATE NM that nobody is doing, and solo it at its level. It's not so easy.
If you want a challenge, play challenging content. Don't cry to us that you can beat weak monsters easily and think the whole game is easy because of it. Like others said, go beat Titan or Coil of bahamut then try to tell us the game is easy.
You're basically telling me that FFXI was better because it took an eternity to kill things. Slow combat does not make the game harder or easier. it just makes it take longer.
