This has happened to me too. I can't remember the exact phrasing each time it happened but, for example, I've said something like "I'm back" in /party after coming back from being afk and it didn't go through. Also happened a few times in /say, /em and /tell.

This has completely wrecked my ability to play the game as I have no idea if my messages are getting to the other end or not.
I agree this is a problem, but to say it "completely wrecks" the game is a biiit of an exaggeration. 99.9% of all messages work fine. if you don't think someone heard something, just ask them. This really should be fixed (and is very odd) though.

However, I think the odds are high that it could be the RMT filters. some obscure combination of characters in your message could be causing it to be blocked.

They most likely don't produce an error message so that the RMT don't know their shouts aren't working.

This is a MAJOR issue. I'm now worried that some of my instructional in FC chat are getting dropped. I've had odd moments of silence. I'll be looking over at my girlfriend's screen from now on to make sure chat is getting through.

Yes, but this means that if you're in a party, and you're explaining something in party chat, there's no way to tell if it's going through. It could be dropped, it might not be dropped. This is very worrisome. There HAS to be a better way to deal with RMT spam.

I'm not sure if you understand how this impacts role-playing. Long messages tend to be dropped far more often than others, and about 5% of my messages in role-playing scenarios don't make it. Every single post is important in an RP scenario, so I basically have to say "((done))" after every single message to confirm that they got it. This is ridiculous and, as someone who primarily plays the game to role-play, yes, it wrecks my experience.

It affects role playing and ordinary chat the same way. It doesn't discriminate against role-players. You don't even have to act out of character... you can just be like "Can you hear me now?" Good!" like those cell phone ads from years ago.

I've observed that RPers feel the need to flag their chat as RP chat by putting weird symbols around it (I don't like it because it makes me feel like they're trying to stand out in a bad way). Perhaps this is tripping the RMT filters- It's almost certain that's why your messages are being blocked, by the way.

If I had to choose between seeing people chat in a more grandiose way than even the NPCs in the game do, and having less RMT spam, I'd take the less RMT spam. that ruins my experience a lot more than the (very) occasional message that doesn't send.

Every single post is important in an RP scenario,
You make it sound like everyday people talking about typical stuff don't consider every of their messages to be important. every chat I send is just as important to me as yours are to you.

It is a problem, I don't disagree with that. But it's not a special problem for you, it is the same kind of a problem for everyone. I'm actually surprised if the bad grammar and spelling of some people doesn't trip the RMT filter more than RP chat, because that's what most RMT do to get around it.

Hello, all! I just wanted to drop in and let you know I'm going to go ahead and alert the appropriate parties about this issue. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that a direct response will be posted on this thread, but I do recommend checking Here or Here for any details regarding the development team's investigation. Thank you all for your patience.
