Is this occurring with the /em function, too? My FC leader was having the issue of his emotes just up and vanishing, but we figured it was a text limit. Guess not.

Confirming that this message is silenced when sent with /tell
"I love you, pumpkin! How could you even ask such a thing! I love you so, so much! I always will! Forever!" She throws her arms around Missy, practically dragging the pair of them into the water.
I've encountered this again several times today. Long messages often don't get sent. Splitting them up into smaller ones tends to work.
Edit: It's worth mentioning that so far, every time this happened for me, the posts were long, close to the character limit.

I had several problems with it tonight as well. We actually have to have a system for dialog in role-play now just to ensure the other person was able to see each message. It's silly!
Same here! We've taken to saying ((done)) after each post. At one point splitting the post in two wasn't enough, and I ended up splitting it in three instead. Breaks immersion a bit when it comes to RP, but better than thinking the other person never posted...
Happened to me as well with the following text:
Strangely, splitting it into two parts worked. It was split as such:For some reason, she was told that often. 'Some reason' likely being the fact she was tiny, even by Miqo'te standards. She glanced up at him briefly, then back at the spot between his shoes. They weren't very good shoes. "I'm sorry. I mean, um. I'm twenty-two in Hyuran years." He was Hyur, right? She didn't want to look at him again to confirm, but those seemed like Hyuran shoes.
Profanity filter is off. This was in party chat. I could see my text, but my party member could not.For some reason, she was told that often. I can confirm this issue. I have profanity filter off.

This is still causing issues and it would be nice if SE would acknowledge this, and fix it.
This has happened to me too. I can't remember the exact phrasing each time it happened but, for example, I've said something like "I'm back" in /party after coming back from being afk and it didn't go through. Also happened a few times in /say, /em and /tell.
