Stone I/II macro: Attack directly or target the tank and auto assist

    /ac "Stone II"
    /ac "Stone II" <tt>
    /ac "Stone"
    /ac "Stone" <tt>

This macro will attempt to cast stone II on your target. If it can't, it will attempt to cast stone II on your target's target. If it can't, it will try again with stone 1. This does several things: It auto downgrades to stone if you don't have stone 2 available because of level syncing, and it auto target's your target's target if you are targeting a player (i.e. the tank you are healing)

    I personally add in a

    /facetarget <tt>

Because I hated facing mechanics for heals but dig them for attack spells since I'm often not facing the right direction. I do the same thing with my focus target and Repose (/facetarget <focus>)

Does the direction you're facing have any importance at all? I've never paid any attention to what way I'm facing.

On PS3 it's set so you run the way you're camera angle is facing, not the way your character is facing. When I let off the run (right stick) abrubtly, it makes me stop AND face back the direction I came from. When I start running again, I go the direction my camera is facing, so it doesn't matter which way my character is facing. This sounds like an advantage over kb mouse play? I remember a number of PC games where kb turners literally couldn't handle fight mechanics, and HAD TO learn to mouse turn... which still requires more effort and time then pushing a stick

I use macros and have never used /facetarget, it just automaticaly does it

For offensive spells it does, you probably have auto face enabled and don't notice it.

So, if you have autoface enabled, do you need to put in the /facetarget or does autoface also work for macros? Sorry, I'm at work so I can't test it out now...

If you already have it enabled, there is no need for the command line.

Of course the first time you're running out of an AoE and then about-face right back into it because you cast a Regen... you'll probably disable auto facing.

Still learning macro commands and how to best use them. Thanks for the tips. Couldn't think of anything worth a macro on my whm but thats because of my limited knowledge of all the commands. Please share more if you have em.
