A simple suggestion to save this game.

    1. Open / Expand your servers. - This should be common sense but I dont know why SE doesnt address this as their priority. By closing your servers you are losing potential new players. And with the current population people arw impatient so instead of waiting they will switch to other mmo instead.

    2. Merge Servers - As i said, the population of the newbie areas are basically abyssmal. In order to compensate for it, they should merge servers with low population. This will help the new players stay in the game instead of quitting because they cant see other players in the starting maps.

    3. Server Transfers - This should help as well. Because of the dying population (currently the high level population isnt that low but still i always see familiar names and same people are shouting / dungeoning) with a transfer, players can move to a higher populated server.

    4. More ways of acquiring semi end game gears - all end game gears requires tokens. Darklight sets and crafted i70s all requires tokens. Farming tokens in 2 dungeons for fast runs gets pretty boring.

I feel like the Gil Spamming and hackers are much more of a problem and are killing the game, personally.
I'm glad people can't come to play at this point when you can potentially hacked.
Save yourselves, don't play now. PS. Digital sells are still closed.

    2. This will happen later, so far, we have too many servers the newest ones are sure to die soon.
    3. Will have this Mid-Sept.
    4. Ok.

Its not the log in thing. Its the closed servers for character creation. Please read before replying. Thank you

So far I haven't had a problem getting into my server, so from what I can tell just character creation is still locked on high-pop servers. I'm sure they will raise that cap in time, but for now there are still other servers you can make characters on.

    2. This eliminates the entire point of making new servers, which is what I recall people on the forums crying for when the servers had more strict locks on them. People will eventually level up and get geared. Don't see what not being able to see players in the starting maps has to do with anything. Sometimes people simply aren't in those areas, it happens. I honestly don't get why someone would quit because the starting area wasn't crowded.

    3. They already announced this service will be available in the future. Also, moving to a more populated server would just cause the same lockout issues we've been seeing. I'd have to imagine if a server isn't allowing new characters to be created, then it wouldn't allow people to transfer characters there either.

    4. I agree with you on here. Not that I want easier ways of getting tokens, but at least give us more options, which I'm sure will happen in the future.

I know they will eventually open the servers but i want them to atleast make an effort and make it quick. You see, these days a lot of mmos are getting into the market, and people of this age are impatient. So instead of waiting for the said servers to open they instead they will move to a new mmo. Potential Clients lost right there.

The ghost town newbie areas can also affect players because newbies will get bored easily and they will not be able to do some fated that requires big number of players.

I get that people are impatient, the problem is that when this all happens is up to Square. If someone is that quick to move to another game then they probably weren't all the interested in FF14 in the first place. I'd rather wait and get something that works right as opposed to getting something half-assed quickly. Can't really speak for what SE is doing right now or how this will be done on a technical level, of course, but I'm not going to instantly assume they are just sitting around doing nothing. Considering how much Yoshi-P seems to care about this game I find it hard to believe he's just screwing around.

As far as the ghost town thing is concerned, it's going to wind up happening on all servers as more people move on from those areas. Not saying we won't see new players, but the lowbie areas can't stay packed forever. That's just a fact. Besides, not like there won't be people trying to level their alts using the lower-leveled fates or rerolling a new characters for the hell of it.

    Because of the dying population
My server is 'medium' compared to other servers. Half of the 30 servers are full/closed. My server is not one of them.

As of 11:26 PM EST on a Sunday there are roughly 2,500 players logged in on my server. There are 835 players between levels five and ten logged in. There are 45 max level players logged in.

I can only think you must be on drugs or a troll. What, no one is out killing level 1 squirrels right now? Every time I level a different job I see TONS of people, I mean, so many its ridiculous. Unless you are on a brand spanking new server, as in one they have opened in the past week or so, then I have no idea what in the world you are talking about as far as a dying population, what..the..fu....

I am on a server that was opened during Open Beta and its slamming packed. They opened all the new servers because the current servers were at their max capacity. Thats what people were screaming for, so thats what they got. You are at max level, ok, unless you are on a Legacy server, you kind of need to wait for people to catch up. Not everyone zooms to max level as soon as the game comes out.

My goodness, the amount of complaining on these forums is amazing.

Also to note, they added more servers this past week because they felt the need too. Why? They want to allow digital sales again. Yeah, remember that? They arent even selling the game right now! Once they start allowing that again, guess what? More people will be playing. I have a friend who works in retail. He cant even reserve the game for himself at his job because every time they get copies in, they are already reserved, lol. So until they allow digital sales again, he probably wont be able to even buy the game. Im sure there are plenty more people out there like that. So, just relax, give it some time.
