    Macros, and how they work.

Can someone list some pld macros for me, and explain how they work? Like what is the purpose and are they necessary?

I macro a few abilities together and rotate them throughout the fight. Granted I think if you happen to use a macro and then try to use an ability it can interrupt abilities being macro'd together... BUT it works well for me and what I do. Here is how I have mine

/macroicon Rampart <--- allows rampart icon to be displayed on the action bar as well as the cooldown to keep track of it
/action "Rampart" <me> <--- always have to be followed by a <me> or <t> for target
/wait 0.5 < --- how long you want to wait between each ability in seconds
    /action "Fight or Flight" <me>
    /wait 1
    /action "Bloodbath" <me>

That's just a basic one I use for the pull, but there are also others I like to bind together since I absolutely hate having a billion abilities all over the place.

I have a 'Defensive CD" macro that I spam in between the combos.

    macro goes like
    /ac "Rampart" <me>
    /ac "Foresight" <me>
    .
    .
    .
    .
/ac etc (i basically squeezed ALL my available defensive cooldowns into this macro) so that one single macro allows me to execute all defensive cooldowns.

    my fights typically go like:
    fast blade > macro + macro > savage blade > macro + macro > rage > macro + macro

i recon it would be a lot more "effective" to use the abilities based on situation, but after a few dungeons run i realise the most important thing we need to do is to keep hate, which requires us to go through the combos religiously, and the best time to pop any other ability is in between the combo attacks since the combo attacks simply cannot be jeopardized or we will lose hate almost instantly.
