    Question about macro orders

Ok so i have two macros that i use as a monk a lot but there is something off with them.

The first is set up "in this order" Twin snakes > Demolish > Dragon Kick

The second is set up "in this order" Snap Punch > True Strike > Bootshine

Now the problem is that when it comes time for a Demolish/ Snap punch I will instead cast Dragon Kick/ Bootshine. It does not always happen, but happens enough for me to make this post.

I don't get how this is at all possible. They are listed last in the macro chain, meaning that if any ability before it is active that ability is the one that should get used. Can anyone explain why this happens?

Only thing I would say is look at cooldown time/recast time. If either one of those abilities aren't ready when you hit macro it will skip that ability and do next in chain in macro.

I have also noticed this that similar macros I have used would ignore skill priority and stance in the macro and use Bootshine or Dragon Kick regardless, not every time but I would hazard a guess at atleast 1/4 of the time using the macro.

I infact notice it often enough to stop using the macros completely until its fixed.

Are you an EU player perhaps? Maybe has something to do with the inherent latency connecting to the servers over in Canada, is the only thing I can think that may cause it.

They all share the same global cool down of 2.5 seconds. So technically they should all be available at the exact same time.

No i play on the east coast, but I think my server, adamantoise, is an NA/ EU server. Though I don't think this is just a latency issue

Well im playing from the UK, with an average ping of 150 so I dont think latency is the case then if your a NA player. But your definitely not alone as I said before I experienced it enough to stop using the macro completely and I imagine more people who dont visit the forums are also experiencing it, i'll ask guildies when they start logging on see if they have also noticed this issue.

This happens because macros are NOT executed simultaneously.

If you are mashing the button, it is possible that it is in the second, or third line of macro execution when the GCD finally comes up.

This is especially prevalent if you spam heal macros (mouseover, target, then me), it will have a high probability of ignoring the mouseover, sometimes even the target and healing only yourself.

I was thinking something like this could be the issue but i always thought that macros were executed simultaneously. Guess not though. I wonder if there is any way to modify the chain to help counter act this. Like maybe place an extra /ac "Snap Punch" <t> in again right before the Bootshine or Dragon kick command line.

I'm not so sure...what I do is not mash the macro.

Yes, you do lose something like 100 milliseconds or so of dps, but (I don't know monks) it seems like missing (or redoing) part of your rotation is a huge nono, esp if you depend on timing your forms correctly.

So it might be worth the slight lag to wait until you see your GCD almost come up before hitting the button.

For healing, this is what i do, because missing a heal is MUCH worse than delaying it by a small time. For dps...its harder, because you need to maximize your uptime.
