Jobs should have access to more, if not ALL of the other classes instead of being limited to a few skills in TWO class. That would allow for more diversity and flavour and would really make the armory system proud.

And with that unlimited choice, you will have theory crafters who find the most effective builds and suddenly we go all cookie cutter. Go to a progression FC and see what happens when you want to play your way. Many will tell you to experiment on your own. And unless you are a respected theorycrafter, it's cookie cutter or GTFO. Not saying the armory system is super awesome, but to think there is a choice is wrong.

Don't play dragoon if you want to have access to more cross-class abilities. What would be the point of lancer if dragoon was superior in every way?

The main story line is linear! But.. I guess a main story line is supposed to be...
Leveling only one job is linear! But... I guess if you only level one job.. it kind of has to go in one direction....
Aside from that, there is no linearity. It is true there is very little in the way of customization for skills. We could have the choice for more skills/sub-jobs/etc. But after a few weeks we would have discovered the 'optimum' build... And we would all choose those same skills/sub-jobs... So Yoshi-P just saved us a bit of wait.

Now, if you really want to mix things up, try going with class and not job! More variety. Then try to take on tough monsters solo! Or see if you can make a custom setup that is unusual yet effective for a specific task!

This game is the exact opposite of linear. You can go wherever you want, and you can do whatever you want. Want to skip something? Go ahead.

Hey man that hurts. I love the combat and the story was so amazing I just couldn't stop playing and before I knew it I was level 50 and am super excited to do everything this game has to offer. Just because I didn't stop to cut down trees or smack rocks doesn't make me retarded.
