"asian grind MMO?" This isn't anything like those. If you want an "asian grind MMO", play maplestory, the grind to end all grinds.I think I am going to put this game away for right now, I am dead bored with the game after playing it for only a couple weeks.
Just another Linear Asian Grind MMO at the moment and I don't see them making any changes in the near future.
Booo-Urns Squarenix, Boo-Urns.
Then go play Rift? Don't let the door hit you on the way out.Yea, Rift does have optimized builds, but there are A TON OF THEM. And at least you get the choice to use them or not. I would gladly pick the unique builds over optimized just to change it up a bit, instead of being forced to use the same exact build as everyone else.
This is the definition of cookie cutter.
This guy is hilarious! An absolute gem. And, obviously a troll. C'mon guys, 4 pages and no mention?
He calls a MMO linear. He calls this MMO linear. Right there, everyone can either entirely disregard him and laugh, or take the bait.
Seriously?
This is pretty linear compared to a lot of things though. Maybe not FF13 tier but pretty far from say EVE or even some single player games.
I call BS unless you just ran very casually. In every game i've played that had a lot of choices, every one had players calling others gimp and not running with them if they weren't even close to optimal. Rift and DDO (DDO more than rift even really) had the most flexibility, but you could also could also make a character that would be next to useless. Even WoW, which had fewer choices, originally had talent trees that you could vary, but try and run end game with them, and you wouldn't get far. In all of those systems, the optimal build will be discovered, and unless you run with just friends who will put up with it, you are boned if you chose "flavor" builds.Yea, Rift does have optimized builds, but there are A TON OF THEM. And at least you get the choice to use them or not. I would gladly pick the unique builds over optimized just to change it up a bit, instead of being forced to use the same exact build as everyone else.
You have a big ass world with plenty to do ranging in cooking, melding, grinding, story quest, side quest, dyeing your clothes, crafting, riding your favorite chocobo, fishing and shit, with pvp soon to be available and you call that linear? There is more to do then my life time lol
It's a theme park, not a sandbox. Not sure what you're expecting. Either way: the linearity ends once you've reached level 10; it's up to the player to figure out how they'll progress after that. .-.
