Need help with macros

I played from day 1 back on Sept 22nd to 10/28. Then my FF14 Launcher would boot up, but the login screen window stopped coming up after that. I didn't feel like reinstalling and eventually, I accidentally messed up my whole file system when I force closed the Defragmenter.

I didn't play after that, and used my laptop for 3-4 months only. I eventually put Win 7 on a new Quad Core, and reinstalled FF14 2 days ago.

I logged in, and was ready to play, probably only logged in 2-3 times since Halloween. I was my 14 Goldsmith (Dragonsi on Besaid) and was going to grind and level my Thau 12/Conj 20, when I attempted to bring up my 18 job macros and switch jobs, when my macro screen was completely blank. F!!!!! My macros are saved on my hard drive, and not the server. Same thing happened to me in FF11 when I installed it on a new PS2 from my old one, and I had a huge amount of macros then as well.

So I stayed logged in for 15 mins, not doing much since I just wanted to party and fight, and logged out.

It took me so long to write them all up by hand, and wanted some help to do it again. And where is the file I would need to transfer from my old computer, and file location, to this one for the macros? Is there anything else other than macros that I would need to move over as well?

I'm so fed up, I just feel like going right back to Wow, which I played early last year and for the last 3 months. Writing up another 20-30 macros all over again is F!!!! ridiculous to me.

Is the Easter event still going on yet? I see colored eggs and egg hats in pple's bazaars, and just my luck, it would have ended on Thursday or Friday by now.

Belive it could be within the User folder if it is.

I don't know if you ever figured it out but I had a similar problem and wanted to move my macros from one computer to another. I found out, as ManekiKanji suggests, that the macros are indeed stored under the user profile and specifically in a single file.

You can copy the following file from one computer to the other and it worked great on my setup:

My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\user\023681EC\mcr0.

After copying this file to the second computer and restarting FFXIV all my macros were available.

It will surely help somebody in the future if they use correct keyword - for examples, how to copy macros, macro backup, macro file, use old macro on new computer, where is my macro, where to find macros, macro folder, directory where the game saves my macros to, in what directory is my macro saved, PC macros - to search the forum.
