    computer monitor on ps3?

currently using a very small TV for the ps3 and I cant read most text because of the way the ui scales on it...

which happens to also be all of the only texts that doesnt let you make it bigger in options

will it scale better using a pc monitor? its a lcd screen but nothing HD or anything...

Im asking because these two I have, I cant afford to buy a new screen anytime soon

You'll need a monitor with an HDMI interface that can support 720p (and, of course, the HDMI cable to hook it up). It's kinda irrelevant whether it calls itself a TV or a computer monitor.

Ps3 still run ffxiv reborn at 960x544 stretched to 1280x720 on ps3, unless you are using a really old tv at you wouldnt really get any difference.

Only way to get really crisp image and gui size is to play on a pc at least 1920x1080 or 2560x1440+

You lose some screen space but looks just as crisp if you play at 720

My sister was playing with her ps3 and an old TV. She couldnt read anything at all.
So she bought a HDMI to VGA and connected an old LCD dell. She can now ready perfectly everything. Its a little stretched but its much much better. Just make sure you change the settings on ps3 to 720p.
    Hope that helped

As far as pricing and what monitor to get, I'm not going to find you a monitor, but I will tell you this.
I got my 23inch 1080p led monitor on sale for $99 and free shipping.

The important thing is the HDMI hookup, or at least component video. If you use the composite video cable that the PS3 ships with, you're gonna get 480i (standard res) and that's not going to work too well.
