A QoL change that I'd like to see in terms of NPC dialogue, perhaps to ambitious?

How about some recognition from NPCs in a place once you've actually completed the quests in that area? I mean you go around doing all these quests - I'm talking like all the quests in an area and then the NPCs just say the same things as if you've just gotten there for the first time. Forgotten Springs is a good example of this.

I'm not asking for some like developed JRPG/WRPG NPC level development, but even FF XI had the fame system (http://ffxi.somepage.com/fame.php) that gave you a sense that you were becoming more important in certain areas of the world and gave a sense of progression. I know this isn't FF XI, but it just sucks to do all the quests in an an area like Costa Del Sol or Forgotten Springs, or even any of the home cities and just be treated the same as you were prior to that point. Maybe I'm just being unrealistic, I know most people don't care about this sort of thing but it bugs me.

You're not alone on this, I feel the same towards most NPC dialogues, most notably the 'U tribe' chain quests and class/job quests. (and many other NPCs that's part of a chain sidequest)

Yeah this is a great idea....Undertake quests in the region to gain fame there. (I bet theres so many people who havent done a single non storyline based quest) resulting in the npcs recognising you or even granting you a title or minion

If you didn't notice, the NPCs in some areas do change as you go through the story. The most obvious is the Waking Sands which has unique dialog for most of the NPCs in there depending on your story progress and certain NPCs come and go. Would be cool for it to be more widespread tho.
