Summoning companion cancels out duty finder...no warning...

Not a huge thing...but kind of annoying. I wasn't aware that once you summon your companion it just cancels out the duty finder, with no warning (at least I didn't see one). So, I was finishing up my hunting log thinking I was still in queue for an hour or so before I realized what happened. I tried again and sure enough, it just throws you out of the duty finder with no warning at all. I sure hope they fix this soon. They at least need to warn people when it happens. You should be able to queue, summon companion, and when queue is ready it would warn you to dismiss your companion or you can't participate.

UPDATE: Well, I just noticed that there is indeed a chat message that comes up in red when you summon your companion while in the duty finder. I didn't see it before, but its there. They still need to make it a little more obvious though, it's really subtle with all the Gil spammers right now. (my blacklist is darn near full, not even bothering anymore)

yea the chocobo should not even become a party memeber the way it does very annoying

Or at least keep us in duty finder then when its ready to go you send your choco away and accept in the duty finder just like you do when your crafting and the duty comes up. Some things SE gets some things they miss.

same thing with mounting, since you can't do it while he is around.

They really do need to figure out a better way to handle the companions in the game. ToR, for all it's flaws had worked their companion system perfectly so that they were there when you had less than four people (and only up to the party limit) and when another person joined the party, it booted out the companion without fuss; Same thing for dungeons through the LFG tool.

It's my hope that Square want to build up the state of the systems they're copying.. Like continually upgrading the companion system until it's as good as ToR's was, or it's Pet system until it's as easy to use as say WoW (I haven't played any other MMO's as a pet class, but warlock and hunter were very easy to manage pets in WoW). We'll see though, i guess?

This exactly. There is no reason not to do this. Its very possible from a coding standpoint, so it really should be done.
