Question to those who got hacked..

In the last 30 years, I've never been hit by a car, so if you get hit by a car, it's your own fault.

LOL, I can add to this......in the past 40 years I have never been mugged, raped, murdered, won lotto, had cancer.........etc
So if you get any of those, it's your own fault.

1) Did you went to those gil seller websites to check it?

2) Did you click on any links that send you to a SE website that reqires you to log in.
No

3) When was the last time you remember changing your password? How strong is it?
When the game was released, uppercase lowercase and numerical, no special characters, more than 8 characters long.

4) Do you have any anti virus installed? Are they up to date?
Avast, updates multiple times per day

5) Are you using those free VPN services?
No


6) Did you log in your account elsewhere? Lan shop, someone else home, asked your guildmate to log in for you.
No

7) Did you bring your PC / laptop for repairs?
No

Technically I have the apple security token but it was set up before I got banned but after I realized my account had been compromised. I had a physical one from 1.0 which recently broke and am waiting for a new physical one in the mail which is why I didn't have a token activated. I got banned while playing, no GM contacted me and I have received no e-mail explaining their actions.

I wonder if all those hacked are early access accounts and if the vulnerability occured with the retardedly bungled registration for said codes.

Also, i wonder if any of the german, french, japan etc forums are having the same issues as NA/EU at having hacked accounts as well. Might be interesting to find out which areas of the globe (account wise) are afflicted heaviest.

Without some wall of security, ala a security token or an ip/email gate, if hackers wanna get you they will pretty much eventually get you, it just depends on the popularity of the market.

There are far too many vulnerabilities and issues out there, even through seemingly innocent and legit outlets.

Obviously, you can take good precautions, but all of this is pretty much common sense. If you want to avoid a hack and have SOME peace of mind, get an auth/token and request that Square do IP/email gating, as its instantly applied to everyone and extremely effective.

There's a reason you barely hear about hacking in online games and programs that use them as it's mandatory.

Ok, I just want to clear the air here since people don't seem to understand what the problem here is. Sure, hacking is part of the problem, but the main problem is the time it takes SE to restore accounts to their customers. You can suspend an account in what, like 5 minutes but it takes them 10+ days to restore your account? That my friends, is totally not acceptable.
